Kobe played with some bad teammates, but he seems to have a disproportionate amount of hate for Smush. My only explanation for this as a fan that watched him and the Lakers during those years is that those were the years Kobe was most frustrated in his career. He was at his absolute prime and was desperate to win rings without Shaq, but he felt like the Lakers were not giving him the teammates he needed to win. He even asked to be traded during those times. I think he saw and continued to see Smush as like the main example of how the Lakers as an org weren't serious about winning during that time. He felt like they should be trying to give him a PG like Steve Nash or something, but instead they give him Smush Parker. So his hate is not really personal as much as he sees Smush as like a symbol and reminder of a frustrating time in his playing career. It's quite unfair.

Naw Kobe strived to be like Jordan in every way. He even began to emulate a lot of Jordan's mannerisms, a Kobe as a person like Jordan was a world class grade "A" asshole, and in the end he got exactly what he deserved. In his death the disrespect him and his family received from the LA County Sheriff's Department, was Karma and much well deserved!!! What exactly was Steve Nash going to add to the Lakers equation??? I'll tell you, exactly what he did when he finally arrived in LA. Smush Parker is definitely not the worst teammate that Kobe Bryant has ever played with. The Lakers got more out of Smush Parker than they did out of Steve Nash!! Kobe Bryant the basketball player is phenomenal. Kobe Bryant the person is a horrible monster!! 1. Being dead doesn’t change reality or the facts. It’s dishonest to revise history to appease a dead person. 2. These are Smush Parker’s experiences, and these experiences impacted his career. That man can tell his story. 3. If Kobe was concerned about how he would be remembered and spoken of in death, then he had his entire life to shape that legacy - for good, bad, or whatever. 4. Your actions to others matter, and they linger long after you leave.

Smush was very good... He could have been the starting pg for lakers for a longtime without these words. There was a lot going on at the time... Kobe had the world against him for a lot reason so he definatly don't need some negative words from a teamate. But i think Kobe really love Parker game...

I respect his canter. Like if Kobe wanted to win a championship so bad some communication is important. How can you expect to win if u don’t communicate with ya teammates? Those (2) years after Shaq left he bares total responsibility for those bad teams cause he was more concerned with outdoing Shaq. He averaged 35ppg but the scouting report on him was let him shoot his team out of the game cause he will keep shooting

Bro, I understand that you and Kobe didn't get along. If I were you and had the slight chance of playing with Kobe, I would have became a sponge... I would've showed up to practice early to learn everything from him! In fact, the practice facility would've became my safe heaven. Kobe would've gotten so mad at me for showing dedication than him 🤣🤣🤣 It looks like Kobe only respected people who had that hunger 😢

But you and many others weren’t there. He’s at the pinnacle of the sport with massive egos. Especially an ego who doesn’t act like a human being. Kobe snitching on shaq was a defining moment of a champion. Telling the police shaq is cheating on his wife, cmon man lol

@DomCharlo I don't approve of Kobe being an asshole. Who wants to be around someone like that? However, I would have used that as a fuel to become the next best guy on the team. In Kobe's defense, how come the NBA didn't keep Smush Parker for long?

@@Goodguy1ful No sir, the vocable "fan" is short for "fanatic" which comes from the latin "fanum" etymologically. The latter refers to someone's behavior "that might result from possession by a god or demon". You can't be a complete unbiased fan. That's an oxymoron.

This is getting sad at this point. Smush has the right to feel how he wants. But taking shots at Kobe NOW is crazy. Where were the interviews when he was still alive? And maybe I’m wrong, but other than Smush, I haven’t seen anything but teammates talking about how much they loved playing with Kobe and how playing with Kobe made them better. So to now try to attack his character is foul. And Vlad being Vlad felt like somebody slighted him so he’s going to play right into it. Vlad always says he did his research so when is he planning to bring up what all his other teammates say about him?
@RicoSoprano_10 ай бұрын
Yeah you are wrong and you think just like a casual sheep of the NBA. Even if everyone likes Kobe that doesn’t change his relationship with Smush. This isn’t anything new if you followed the Lakers back then you would know Smush and Kobe never got along. Kobe didn’t get this much love when he was alive. When people die all of a sudden everyone loves them and nobody can talk bad about them which is bs. I’m pretty sure it’s other players who didn’t like Kobe but they would never admit to it now he’s gone. Nobody in this world is a perfect human being neither was Kobe
@doctorx192410 ай бұрын
Kobe was always a shit teammate most people are just too scared to say anything bad about him now that he's dead. They don't want to deal with the backlash from his fans and media. Kwame Brown said in a recent interview with Ticket that Kobe was a shit teammate. They are also plenty of examples of Kobe being a rotten teammate in the book 3 ring circus which came out right around his passing.
@brantonsims463610 ай бұрын
@@RicoSoprano_ I guess you missed the part where I said Smush has the right to feel how he feels….Ive been watching the Lakers play since ‘99 so im far from casual. And if what you say is true, Kobe played 20 seasons. Find me all the these imaginary teammates that hated Kobe. I never said he was perfect. My point is Smush took it personal and internalized it. He’s held on to it all these years, so why wait until now to start saying something about it. And if Kobe could sit down with Shaq and make things right, you telling me he couldn’t have done that with Smush??
@brantonsims463610 ай бұрын
@@doctorx1924 Kwame Brown also talked about how playing with Kobe pushed him so that’s a bad example. And you’re assuming that “all these players are scared to say anything,” so that means you prefer to just ignore all the teammates who talk good about him?? So they’re lying about that too right? Nobody is saying Kobe was perfect. But the man wasn’t evil either bruh.
@doctorx192410 ай бұрын
@@brantonsims4636 Kwame still said he was a rotten teammate. You are just deflecting. Yes, I'm assuming they are scared to say the truth because most people are not built to handle a large backlash by the media and millions of crazy fans. Kobe was a sociopath. They are plenty examples in books such as 3 ring circus and Showboat.
