I have waited so long for more content from you guys and I am NOT disappointed. Awesome to see you guys are still keeping to the SN95 content, there isn't so much on maintenance on these cars on KZbin so it's so awesome having someone do it. Great job guys. Keep it up😁👌💪😎

Great thanks a lot very helpful did you put the cable in on the front hook of clutch quadrant or the second hook
@GrandTouringConcepts7 ай бұрын
For a stock style cable, we used the "back hook" the one that allows the cable to be the longest, if you try the other one you'll see that you run out of adjustment at the firewall. If you have an adjustable cable, you can play with the length to use whichever hook you wish.

I have the old steeds and it won't stay adjusted. I'll fix that with silicon or thread locker. I never understood why there is no return spring to pull back so the TO bering gets to rest. I'll try to fix that too.

Do the springs on the quadrant go in the new one or now
@GrandTouringConcepts5 ай бұрын
The old springs are for the self adjuster system for the plastic quadrant, you may discard the springs as they aren't used in a billet quadrant and firewall adjuster setup. -Darren

What’s the part number for the cable I can’t find an oem cord cable anywhere
@GrandTouringConcepts8 ай бұрын
I use this part, and just keep the fork on the shelf until I need a Fox one for something: Ford Performance Parts Clutch Linkage Upgrade Kits and Accessories M-7553-A302

What if I can’t get the adjuster on the cable at the bell housing m loose enough even with firewall adjuster all the way in to get that little play at the pedal? Could my cable be to short that bbk sent me?

I do think that some one said there shouldn’t be an air game on the v8 ones
@moses87902 жыл бұрын
I just installed a steeda quadrant (double hook), no firewall adjuster, with adjustable clutch cable. The clutch cable seems to be too short, it reaches only about a fourth of the way to the clutch fork. It’s a 1997 mustang Gt.

Any ideas on what I should do?
@GrandTouringConcepts2 жыл бұрын
My personal recommendation would be to inspect the adjustable cable with regards to overall length when compared to the stock piece, if that checks out, then inspect the routing to ensure you followed the factory path. If that doesn't show anything, it is possible you got a wrong part/part number and might need to look at an exchange. Of course, as covered in the video, my best recommendation is a OE style cable and a firewall adjuster, experience with adjustable cables has not been good. Hello Darren, Have you ever covered parasitic battery drain? Seemed to plague many of these cars. Thank you. Nick

Hi Nick, I have not covered a battery drain diagnostic yet, but can add it to the list of topics. I will see how quickly we can touch on that process for you. Thanks for watching and contributing! - Darren

Which brand or brands of "stock" clutch cable have you had success with? Couldn't understand which brand you mentioned.
@GrandTouringConcepts2 жыл бұрын
FoMoCo, or Ford Motor Company/Motorcraft have been our go-to. They are likely unavailable now, but look for a high quality piece that matches lookup for a F4ZZ7K553A. Avoid any sort of adjustable cable, they are unreliable at times.

I don’t like how high my peddle sits is there a way to get it not to be so high
@GrandTouringConcepts4 ай бұрын
The only way I could think of would be to also install an adjustable cable and firewall adjuster then fine tune between the pedal height and making sure you get complete clutch disengagement during shifts. Otherwise the clutch pedal lands wherever it is adjusted for proper shifting and that's where it will be. Thanks for watching and commenting! - Darren

Can you use the oem clutch cable with the firewall adjuster ?
@GrandTouringConcepts2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, on my personal '95 GTS I used the stock cable. Depending on which adjuster one you get you might have to do a bit of trimming to the plastic bits, but follow any instruction sheet and you should be good. Thanks for commenting! - Darren

Hey bros i installed a bbk adjustable clutch cable and im wondering should the fork have a lot of play when its not hooked up to the cable
@GrandTouringConcepts3 жыл бұрын
If the fork is not connected to the cable, it will freely move to the rear and will be able to twist to some degree. This is because the clutch fork is on a mushroom shaped pivot and the throw-out bearing is retained on the fork with a wishbone shaped spring clip. It might be hard for us to understand the amount of play you are experiencing but there is a fair amount generally speaking. Once the cable is seated in the fork and the pedal is adjusted you will probably see this reduce quite a bit. If in doubt, of the throwout bearing or any other parts, now is a good time to use a flashlight to check for obvious signs of issues. Hopefully this helps you out, thanks for watching and commenting! - Darren
