"And I hope whoever it is Holds their breath around you Cause’ I know I did" I think this line is particularly lovely. It captures that sort of confessional, innocent love that we experience when we're young while simultaneously exploring a more mature outlook. However, you can tell she's still sorting through her feelings in real time. I agree that this song is well written.

I think that Snail Mail, Car Seat Headrest, and some other bands out there are doing an indie-rock very representative of this age. The allusions with The Strokes and the 90's vibe are pretty strong and i love it. Thanks for this kind of music.

Despite a never-ending influx of new bands popping up all the time, as of the last few years it's felt to me that not too many have made too big a splash/project a lot of staying power in the genre. Not to mention, a ton of bands from the early to late '00s have already settled into their fame, so I felt this palpable power vacuum. But now that the senior class has graduated, it's time for a new group of freshmen. There was a breakthrough for me last year in the form of Charly Bliss, but I think Snail Mail is the newcomer that'll arguably make the biggest splash in indie rock in 2018.

I'm so tired of moving on Spending every weekend so far gone Heat wave, nothing to do Woke up in my clothes having dreamt of you Swirl in the white evening sun Tell me that I'm the only one And I hope I never get a clue Green eyes, I don't know what to do And I hope whoever it is Holds their breath around you 'Cause I know I did And otherwise If only sometimes Would you give it up, green eyes? Passing phases wear you thin Same old world that you've been sleeping in And I hope it never spends you up Green eyes, what could ever be enough? And I hope the love that you find Swallows you wholly Like you said it might And otherwise If only sometimes Would you give it up, green eyes? I'm feeling low I'm not into sometimes And I'm feeling low I'm not into sometimes I'm feeling low I'm not into sometimes And I'm feeling low I'm not into sometimes

Snail Mail sounds very nineties, interesting that Jordan was born at the very end of that decade.

Thanks to internet, people who were born in the late 90s have access to an infinite library of 90s music to influence them

Yes, this reminds me of the music from the movie "That Thing You Do," which of course was trying to make a 60s sound. But it was pure 90s!

Social media gave us replays of the past that we can access anytime we want. I can literally watch most videos and can 9 out of 10 times guess correctly the Decade and sometimes even the year by looking at the fashion and cinematography. This song is massively appealing to anyone who grew up in the late 90's early 00's

great song to listen to after being ghosted by someone who *should* be old enough to know better. they were a charmer (aren't they all?) but i hope the love they find swallows them wholly.
