I grew up in Wyoming in the 70’s and early 80’s. The rest of my family still lives there. I have wonderful childhood memories of being with my friends, exploring the hills and valleys of endless sage brush, looking for lizards, horned toads, cool rocks, arrowheads and such. Occasionally we’d find an abandoned coal mine or an old shack with various artifacts lying around. Every once in a while we’d stumble across a rattler. Being young and foolish, one time we actually caught a small one and took it home. Our parents were just thrilled, as you can imagine. I can’t think of a better place or time to have grown up.

That little guy doesn't look so little to me. The banded iron is my favorite.

Do you know a good place near or around Pine Haven to hunt for agate? Any help is truly appreciated.

I really don’t know that area. I would ask some of the locals.
