I was looking after a dog about 2 years ago, and on a walk, he picked up a discarded nappy (diaper for Americans) which someone had decided to leave in the middle of the field. I managed to trick him into dropping it with food before shutting him in a different room, because I didn't want my hands to be that involved with some random child's poop

The fact you immediately contacted and went to a vet for a potential ingested item is just, yes. The number of people who watch and know their pet has eaten something and wait until their animal is near dying from a blockage is far too high. No your dog will not just "pass" those socks. Emily is a responsible pet owner. Be like Emily.

I think it’s so cool that students got to hold her and practice, since they’re more likely to look after them once they’re full fledged vets and will be less hesitant. Because a responsible vet does know their limit a while annoying to some pet owners it’s really better for the animal that they go to someone with better knowledge of that particular animal group.

I was gentle and if I'd felt ANY resistance I'd have immediately stopped. *She'd gotten into some very old Christmas decor, and while I took it out of her mouth as soon as I discovered this, it was apparently already too late.
