I was looking after a dog about 2 years ago, and on a walk, he picked up a discarded nappy (diaper for Americans) which someone had decided to leave in the middle of the field. I managed to trick him into dropping it with food before shutting him in a different room, because I didn't want my hands to be that involved with some random child's poop

Thank goodness Rex is okay, especially when she’s so close to moving to her giant upgrade enclosure at the facility. I can’t imagine anything bad happening to Rex, it’s too horrible to think about. On a lighter note, the longer Rex has been in your care, the more her body condition seems to improve. I don’t think she’ll ever quite look normal, but her face has evened out significantly and her overall body condition has greatly improved. Can’t wait to see what she looks like after a few years at the facility enjoying her mansion 💖

I think it’s so cool that students got to hold her and practice, since they’re more likely to look after them once they’re full fledged vets and will be less hesitant. Because a responsible vet does know their limit a while annoying to some pet owners it’s really better for the animal that they go to someone with better knowledge of that particular animal group.

@@ZoeHarris6bbv5kp3 Yeah, but when your cat has a piece of tinsel* coming out of her, then gets a leaf stuck to it and she's panicking because the leaf keeps brushing against her legs and she can't escape it... sometimes you have to make a judgement call. I was gentle and if I'd felt ANY resistance I'd have immediately stopped. *She'd gotten into some very old Christmas decor, and while I took it out of her mouth as soon as I discovered this, it was apparently already too late.
