I used to work for HMC&E at LHR and it used to be hilarious when the passengers would laugh and smile and pet the dog when it went up to them and sat down beside them; indicating to her handler that the dogs smelled cannabis (the drug mostly smuggled in my era).

They have to investigate suspects, otherwise they could be letting drugs come into the country. They explain to the suspect why there may be a reading, when drugs aren't found. That's not the officers thinking they are right, it's them doing their jobs, and giving the suspect a courtesy.

In America, the majority of paper currency between $1 and $50, that have been in circulation for more than a couple of years, have traces of cocaine on them. There are also many cleaning chemicals and legal medications that will set off those scanners.

They pulled a trick on me. LOL. I adopted a german shepherd pup from a local cop. (at the time....16 year old teenage stoner) We lived in an area where marijuana grew wild. A year later he could find it like a CHAMP. Two years later I was leaving for college, and they arrived to adopt him back. They put him to work. He was their only drug dog. I'm pretty sure that's not how drug dogs are trained on the continent....He was a happy, happy boy, and loved working for toys and treats! His favorite game.

Excellent work, doggies! I just have a comment - it is about the hunk of meat on a bone. I gave my dog a raw marrow bone several years back and he got very sick. I had to take him to the vet. The vet said from that point on, I should bake those types of bones, rather than serving them raw.

Okay and? Anxiety isn't an excuse to not get questioned. If your story lines up and you're not hiding anything, you'll be fine in the end. The amount of people that do get caught every year with illigal things proves why the dogs need to stay. A fear of dogs is laughable as an excuse to stop having the dogs around. I'm scared of guns but can understand why cops and certain security need them, I'm not going to ask them to stop caring guns due to my own anxiety around them.
