Such a pristine beautiful place. I loved the little blue fish in the coral and seeing that live giant clam! I didn’t see any plastic! Yay! I like that yu enjoy combing the beach and checking shells out but leaving them where yu found them. Thanks for an exceptional video of all the reefs and the efforts being done to restore and preserve them by researchers.

Dear Sailor James, I stumbled upon your youtube channel earlier this week and am hooked. Today I was reading through your recent logs in NZ and you described seeing a rainbow -- welp, not 30 min later I took my dog out into the chilly spring rain for her evening walk and what was I treated to? My very own, complete double rainbow!!! (ALL THE WAY!!!) My jaw dropped, I just couldn't believe it. I just got home from the walk and jumped straight here to share. Still can't believe it. Thank you for the content and for being an inspiration!!!

James as always a wonderful and beautiful video......FYI when you came ashore on the small island i noticed you picked up a cone snail when you were bringing your dingy up onto the beach...Be real careful with cone snails, some of them in the south pacific are deadly poisonous. you can go online and research the markings on the ones that are poisonous for future reference....

Many of the fish in the lagoons and enclosed waters of the South Pacific had ciguatera and the risk of poisoning is too great to fish.

Mine is only 26 feet, considering extending to 29 feet. Safer and faster, creating a bigger wave. Buying that extra 4 feet costs quite a lot and for inshore sailing 26 is ok. We all have dreams. It was difficult seeing you two part, been there! Was looking at a boat 300 miles away, 30 foot with an engine that wouldn't work but being there placed me within 5 miles of my ex-wife. Not an experience I want. If a boat appears then I'll probably live there for a while. I'm not tied to home anymore. There you have the warmth, wait till you hit the North sea or the North Atlantic. Norway and Scotland are worth visiting.

James, what camera are you using for recording? You would deserve a camera with 4K capabilities, why don't you start a campaign for it? I'm sure your audience would happily finance one for you
@SailorJames
@SailorJames Жыл бұрын
I use a GoPro hero 9. My camera can do 4k but 90% of people watch on their phones so 4k is pointless and adds to the difficulty of uploading videos to KZbin.

Hey James, outside of identified anchorages, how do you know where you can legally anchor? I mean, how often could you expect someone to complain that you're anchoring "in their backyard"? With all of the super-rich people around, I wonder how many "Jeffrey Epstein" islands there are. I mean, someone, or some government, has to own these secluded islands, right?
@SailorJames
@SailorJames Жыл бұрын
It’s not like that in Fiji or most places in the world. In Fiji anchorages are generally determined on how dense the coral is. As a rule of thumb don’t anchor in front of a resort or in front of someone’s window where they can see you from their house and everything is chill
