I think it could be a smart move to fight Parker and then the winner of Usyk vs Fury. Keeping up the activity will be useful against guys who fight once a year, especially against a great experienced boxer with a unique style. Interesting fact James Braddock The Cinderella Man, was considered retired in the 1930s because he didn't fight for 9 months, they thought he'd never be able to compete at a top level again because of that extended time off.

You're getting ahead of yourself by assuming he'd beat Parker, which I'm not too sure of. Parker took Zhangs power, who is arguably the most powerful puncher in the division and despite going down twice, outworked him. Joshuas defense was pretty bad against Dubois, which Parker presumably would also do a better job of. There's also a couple other options for Joe - he could rematch AJ oder take on another up-and-comer in Kabayel, which he's been asked about. And then there's obviously the possibility that AJ himself takes a rematch against Dubois, if nothing else, out of pride.

Dubois' rise is pretty insane and a movie-style story. After those two horrible losses on his knees (call em what you will) and the Lerena fight EVERYONE thought he'd found his level and was now always gonna get beat by anyone decent. He's then gone through three hard fights that no one would've been surprised if he lost and one of them was a beatdown/KO in front of 98,000 at Wembley! You couldn't write it. Literally a movie ending. I do have reservations though. Daniel looks 'changed' these days. His fitness and especially his durability seem to have risen and they're things that don't just appear. I think they're ALL on something, but Daniel does seem like a different human these days. He's now an explosive in and out puncher that is 6ft5 and clad in muscle, BUT throws combos in round 11 as he did in round 1. Those jibes in the face off from AJ about what Daniel was doing in Brazil were telling - 'What were you doing in Brazil Daniel? We know what you were doing there.' Brazil is known in the MMA community as being a PED hub - they didn't bring that up by accident.

When you see fighters take one of them and fold in half, they rarely recover (even if he was saved by the bell). I've notice Dubois team always come in with great gameplans going for the body against Usyk was the best chance, here constant pressure never letting AJ get settled. Using Hrgovic poor stamina to gas him out for the 8th round stoppage.

I don't think Usyk will relish a rematch. As good as he is.
@ashscott60683 ай бұрын
A better gameplan against Usyk would have been to just wait a little longer. Dubois can get a lot better. Usyk is about as good as he can get. It won't be long before he starts getting worse. Dubois was put in with Usyk because he's not considered a star. He doesn't have much charisma, so nobody is going to give him a nice slow ride to the top so he can stay ahead of the level of the guys he's fighting. And now, after this result, he's going to be getting the big fights for a whole other reason. It might have been better to slow his career down a bit. In fact, I'm sure it would. I don't think he'd have lost toJoyce if he hadn't faced him so soon. Hell, he might not have even lost to Usyk if he'd had another couple years under his belt. Usyk is good and all, but at the end of the day, a big punch and half decent chin can be enough to beat a more skillful fighter. Especially when you're bigger and stronger.

Daniel was great, showed hes ruthless, has power and also a great chin. But AJ was overconfident, had his hands down the entire fight and thought these gimmicks like showing his tongue and pounding his chest would win him the fight.

Propa , mate , I am Polish live in UK for 20 years , love your KZbin channel . But I would never say that you are younger than me . ! Good laugh as always, but agree with you . DDD jab is fucking killer , I thought AJ was surprisingly shit but it turns out that DDD was twice as stronger and dominant !

When you said if AJ would’ve beaten Dubois, Dubois wouldn’t have gotten a rematch, it’s because everyone knows AJ is a better fighter than Dubois and deserves a shot at the undisputed more than Dubois. Also the AJ vs Fury fight is one we’ve wanted for years. Even after that performance I know AJ is a better boxer than Dubois. Because the rematch would prove that Saturday was just an off night for Joshua.

Triple D is a classic callback boxer. He walks you down slugs with you and you either knock him out or wind him enough to get the points victory but he’s a tough SOB and just eats punches instead of dodging them making him a dangerous counter puncher. He’s food for fury or Usyk but due to how he fights he’s always got that fighters chance to land a solid hit and have them pushing daisies. At this point DDD is one of the hardest punchers we have in heavyweight and I’m enjoying it! Loving the slug matches

i think it came down to Joshua's guard, despite having been terrible for 4 rounds after landing on Dubois in the 5th, he could have finished him off if he just continued with the overhand right as he kept landing before Dubois. Dubois was very very beatable on the night as his guard wasn't as wonderful as it seemed at the time (upon a second and third look) But you see, after Joshua allowed himself chinned rather cheaply at the end of r1...it became a more difficult night that just a torturous one...he completely forgot about boxing and was looking for the right hand like Wilder, he kept missing and kept getting countered, well till the very end when he was countered even before completing the uppercut from a mile away

2:17 To be honest, it was a bit of both. AJ had very questionable tactics and he did not perform like himself that night. On the other hand , Dubois was phenomenal. He executed his Game plan right to the T. The amount of Will Don Charles instilled in him was incredible. He didn’t let the pressure get to him of fighting on the big stage either.

Glad to see you are giving Daniel the credit for this amazing win rather than say AJ was poor. Daniel is going to be VERY hard to beat with his work rate, power and speed, jab, chin, determination. He has definitely arrived at elite level. Don’t forget- AJ was an elite level before this.
