Nah fr though! This also made me realize 2 things…….1: every time they made out, Cal always went for Juliette’s neck despite Cal being a monster hunter and Jules being a vampire, and 2: Cal’s family are lowkey the monsters because they made it seem like all monsters are evil: ghouls, vampires, witches, wizards….and yeah there’s a few of them that are bad, but not all of them are….some of them have never harmed a soul, and are just trying to live their lives as normally as possible, but they have to live in fear because of the monster hunters.

The premise of the series may be cliche but everything else there is great, like we can feel the character´s conflicts and we like both their sides, the monsters and the hunters, and we want them to be alright be we also know sooner or later it´s going to have some tragedy, I still haven´t finished season one but I´m loving it and I stan with all those characters

Negatives: bad writing, subjectively bad choreographed fight scenes, low budget effects, corny scenes. Positives: good lgbtq and poc representation, has potential to be up there with vampire diaries and the originals if time and more effort is put into it; and overall fun watch. Side notes:i wish they would go into the lore more of the world such as vampires, legacies, the guild, etc. I would like to see the characters in a love triangle next season- cal has the potential to be turned into a vamp. I do want to see all the vamp perks/ powers as well. in all seriousness if this is aimed at tweens then its perfect but an older audience would obviously need more work put into this. About the writing: it reminded me of that overdramatic stories written by teenagers on wattpad (and I mean it as a good thing) I don't think it was bad since there weren't holes or lack of coherence, only that forced intensity and drama and I'm all in for it honestly 😄

The back half of the show isn’t as strong as the first half, IMO. I did enjoy the show, but I don’t know if I would watch a second season. The world-building gets kind of messy at a certain point in the story in a way that I can’t discuss without it being spoilers.

I have to admit, I personally wasn't a fan of the show which kind of disappointed me. There isn't a lot of wlw storylines in media which was the main reason why I was so excited to actually finally see some representation. I do have mixed thoughts about how well they did end up portraying the characters relationship with each other as sometimes I was just like "Your really making out already? You barely know each other!" and also the fact that the dialogue is super corny and bland in my opinion but also somehow still is wholesome. I also find it interesting that I always find that the budget for shows that are based around a queer relationship or LGBTQ+ characters are much lower then ones that don't. So I think it would be really nice to finally see a show like this but just made a lot better and had more budget put into it so scenes which do have the potential to be really good don't end up being basic or cringey.

Thank goodness I wasn’t the only one. I still watched the whole season. I felt the writing was so weak that they had to have music force these “epic” or character defining moments, fight scenes were…, but I did like the fact we have a sapphic love story. I just wish the quality was better. Maybe better casting? And I feel like the roles should of been reversed. Also did humans always knew monsters existed in this universe?
