There should have been an april fools event where if you feed a pig and do the konami code you permanently get the ate too much cheat code which just makes shay fatter and way slower and everytime he is refered to by his full name it's shay bigmac instead of shay cormac

It do is INGAME, it's just optional. Like some sort of settings, you do challenges and you unlock them, in the base game

but if you activate the cheats, the whole game is deleted? can you turn off the cheats and keep the game from deleting? once activated can I deactivate them and resume the game normally or is the game automatically cancelled?

it just doesn’t further save progress in that current session, it doesn’t delete the whole save file, where did you hear that?

When enabling a cheat your game stops saving and the next time you load your saved game it'll load your progress before you activated any cheats. Cheats don't delete your saved game but rather stop saving until they are disabled again

The game only stops saving due to the fact that anybody could make progress with invincibility cheats and more

@@SoloSilence I've heard that like in AC Black Flag you can exit from the Animus and it'll save your progress...not for your story progress or stuff like that but it'll let you keep any cash or resources you've looted from ships and the like. Don't know how valid that is as I haven't done it.

Pause, go to abstergo challenges, then go down to cheats and activate whichever you want. You need to complete abstergo challenges to earn new cheats which you can activate.
