I’m getting that DS feeling. A mystery, Concealed! An endless Journey! The prey protects their soul, while the hunter hunts the Truth! The Truth is Singular! It’s time to go to work, Catherine. The search culminates here!!!!

I would highly recommend "Hotel Dusk: Room 215". It's a noire adventure (visual-novel-esque) game with a unique visual aesthetic.

Tentacle Touchy Thanks man! I'm a bit stumped on where to go next though. Most games of his I haven't covered were never released outside of Japan, and Michigan Report From Hell seems almost impossible to find. Unless there's a few games I don't know about, and I'm pretty sure I've reviewed all I can :(

Having played this on a actual DS, i gotta say the visuals on your emulator are all borked, you've done yourself a disservice playing the game like this, there's a lot of missing effects and geometry and despite being a low res tridimensional DS game, it has a very charming atmosphere and visuals on native hardware. You should definately play this again someday on a proper DS or the PS2 original. It is one of the quirkiest and strange of all Suda51 games that doesn't resort to stylized violence and that's pretty much why it's such a memorable experience for me. Shame it's not a perfect port tho, they could've handled the in-game guidebook much better than just floating text on top of low res pages.

I love how wacky this game is, if your able to play it without knowing anything about it ... It's such a wtf game. I come from the DS angle another head trip is the Sims 2. Bizzare is such underated gaming element.

I knew if theres a weird game i've played that haunts my past that your channel has probably reviewed it sometime. nice. also had no idea it was a suda game. when I was in middle school, I borrowed this game from the library because I was running out of games to break with action replay codes, and I thought the box art was cool. I liked the gameplay and I finished it, but I thought that my cart was broken because of the creepy dialogue mumble sounds. the haunted hotel and terrorism plot also freaked me out, not sure why but probably because of the whole uncanny vibe the whole game has. I really felt like I'd come across some haunted cartridge, so I got rid of it as soon as I completed the game. now I remember it fondly because I realize it is just a bizarre game on its own. also a big twin peaks and deadly premonition fan, so i really love the kooky, quirky mystery style its got. don't think I would never play it again though. I remember it being tedious as fuck.

I was looking for this game for a while until my cousin found this game recently pretty cheap. And he bought it for me and i'm so happy I have this game. I finally feel like my Suda 51 collection is complete. The only Suda 51 game i'm missing is "Michigan Report from Hell" which will be impossible to find. And I haven't gotten so far into FSR I just beat the wrestlers story line. So far I really dig this game. My only real problem with this game are some of the puzzles they are pretty convoluted.
@thorhighheels9 жыл бұрын
+youthnando91 Michigan is the only game I'm missing as well. It does kinda suck apparently, though I'm not sure I really care to be honest. As for the puzzles in this, if you can live with cheating then I'd highly recommend using a walk through. The game's characters and story are really great, but the cryptic nature of the puzzles could potentially ruin the experience . Though the game did become easier as it went on, which is rather strange. Either way, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! It's been a while since I made this video and my appreciation of this game only grew over time.

***** Yes i'm using a guide just in case. But the whole wrestler story I did without a guide that one was easy. Put the whole chair and camera puzzle I didn't get that one at all so I used a guide. I might just emulate the Michigan game If I like it I might buy it.

+youthnando91 Have Michigan ! And I'm glad of that. It';s a PAL exclu that's why it is so hard to find (I'm french and I swear it is the worst way to be a collector, the PAL games especially the french games are just crazy expensives ^^) But I really like it, unique and quirky survival horror game. It's special but I think the game stay enjoyable for gamer who like survival horror. Anyway, good luck to find it ! But it's not impossible, take a look everyday on ebay or amazon uk you'll eventually find it ;)

I recently found it for pretty cheap so I gave it a shot. I went in absolutely blind, not even having played any of the Suda51's previous games. Gosh what an experience. I wouldn't say it's a very good game by itself, but it surely was an incredible experience and I loved every minute of it. The gameplay constrains and bad design choices really reminded me of Deadly Premonition and seemed almost deliberate. The cryptic-as-hell puzzles sometimes frustrated me a little bit, especially when I figured out the solution, it wasn't correct, then double checked against the walkthrough, and found out that I forgot one little detail from the sea of information that the game provides you with. I definitely prefer this DS port over the PS2 original, as it contains over 50 optional puzzles and collectibles, which I really enjoyed completing. Unlike Thor, I immensely enjoyed the dialogues and the humour of the game itself, and even laughed several times during the play. I must say I strongly recommend this game, as it's like playing a very unforgiving Professor Layton with Majora's Mask game cycle and Twin Peaks-esque characters and situations.

Oh Thor if you just have played TSC and maybe 25th Ward 8 years ago, this would have been a bit different. But the localization was on his way, so can't blame you. It's so PS1, so wobbly, so quirky, so... Suda51.
