Couldn't agree more about insurance companies. My bike is 16 years old and is worth probably just under £2000, but because it's my first bike and I have no money, I had to insure it third party with a ridiculous excess, just to afford the insurance. After 3 months someone attempts to steal it, realises they can't and instead vandalises it to the tune of £600. Can I claim on the insurance? No! Even if vandalism was covered on my insurance, the excess would have made it pointless anyway! Such a ridiculous system!

Personally, when you see 30fps and then 60fps. You feel 60 is too fast. But compare it to looking through a car window. They're similar. 60fps is slower than real life. KZbin will just take your video and re-render it so any quality that WAS in it is now gone. Never delete your originals though.

Your upload rate is fine, liking the alternate cams (works good this way rather than two windows). For most people 1080p in either 30/60 has no difference. I would say only use 60 fps on tracks videos or scenic journeys. It's pointless to use 60 frames on dull days. Subbed 44teeth channel. My personal favourite is your gixxer vlogs. at 60FPS the camera shutter speed is much higher and so there is less light getting to the sensor which is why the image will appear darker and not a clear in lower light. Hope that helps. Good luck with everything and safe journeys.

And with your camera, if you're not doing shutter speed of 120 at 60p, it looks blurry like you say. So I say go for 24p and make it cinematic. No one is vlogging at 24p in 2.35:1. You could start a trend.

You can cheat a little with KZbin's compression without dealing with too much extra data. Record at 1080p 30p for example, chop it up in your editor then when it comes to rendering, export in 1440p rather than 1080p. 1440p and 4k on KZbin both see around 8 Mbps after they work their compression shit, while 720p and 1080p see something much less (can't remember the exact figure.) The extra bump in bit rate will get your videos to look the best, and as long as you render with an avg bit rate that's higher than KZbin's, you should be alright. RJ claimed awhile ago that he exports with the same parameters that he imports with, which is insane considering that's ~60Mbps in -> ~60Mbps out for every video he makes. At that point, the dividend on compression is set much higher, yielding a higher end result bit rate. Give it a shot sometime and we'll see if the quality improves. Cheers!

The beginning of this video you mentioned that there isn't a right and wrong side to get on the bike. I just did my motorcycle theory test and one of the questions was, Your bike is parked parallel to the curb, should you get on from the pavement side or the road side? I answered from the road side but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer. Does anyone know the correct answer? I passed but I got three questions wrong, may have been this one or not, no idea.

have you ever cancelled insurance mid-term?! I got about a third of the premium back and they also were kind enough to charge me 15 quid for the phone call. I hate them all. I agree with the 60fps comment - it's not like 30fps is clunky. Also I bet most people watch KZbin on tablets or phones, discerning the difference between 720 and 1080 on small screens is pretty difficult unless you're doing freeze frame comparisons (in my opinion)

Wish you'd made a review of the AGV.. considered getting its DS version with a beak, but then found out the Caberg DS helmet, which would work better for me as I am a four-eyed creature (can't even wear lenses after the lasik-surgery).. and it's even worse weather and cold here in Estonia, so fogging would be a really bad problem here... (Caberg comes with a pinlock included)

I think the getting on the bike from a specific side (left) is a bit like how you're supposed to step onto a boat/ship with your right foot. Personally I believe 3rd party should be based entirely on you (age, skill etc). Shouldn't matter if you have a ninja 300 or panigale 1299 as it only applys to the 3rd party's vehicle. Didn't realise you guys didn't bring in any revenue.

The reason they make insurance mandatory is not for your bike its for the other things you can damage in an accident like other cars or buildings..I understand though i put liability for $600.00 (us) a year on my panigale which i only ride 5-10 times a year.. Umm if you can get on the bike just fine from either side then by all means do what you like...but with the standard kickstand the bike leans left and makes it a lot easier to get on from the left side. In this vid that's what you've done...so I'm not sure what people are talking about if they say you're getting on from the wrong side?

+BaronVonGrumble just get yourself a ProGrip Race Vision No fog Lens. Its like the visor inserts you get on the BMW helmets. Works brilliant with my Shark S900 Fost, as well as my Shark Race R Pro Carbon, though you have to have a bit of patience when installing it. Ran into a issue when installing it on my Race R Pro, clearance issue with the visor, and air duct, but I eventually got it right. No more fogging up the lens.

Hi Baron, The pinlock works fine for me. I noticed it has a few stands. You should try witch one works out for, so it doen't rattles. But wait until you ride with glasses on. I bought a pinlock because of the fog, but then i noticed my glasses also fog up. And there ain't anything pinlock-like for glasses :-) I also really like what you guys are doing with the 44 teeth-channel. 2 honest blokes reviewing bikes. Some fuckwitt drove forward out of a parking space into the side of my merc over a year ago, then the blokes insurance said no to pay for the merc hire car they gave me. Long story but my insurance charged his insurance 3,500£ for 7 days car rental FFS even I would not pay that and I could go and hire the same car for less that 600£ for the week! Talk about insurance taking the piss! So it will be 17month in February and I have to attend court to give my side of the story. What a load of bollocks! Now the poor other guys insurance gets billed £3,500 for hire car and £2,000 for lawyer fees, fucking disgrace insurance companies! I am with you Barron on how they rip folk and each other off 😡😡

BvG pretty much sums up why the London councils, TFL and the Labour party are killing motorcycling in the South East and London particularly. Camden and Westminster don't even have "motorcycle" in their categories for consultations on how residents and business people get around. They're just intent on making a utopia for cyclists - and because of the "village" mentality of councils and councillors, they don't give a toss for the commuter from inside or outside the M25 as they not voting them back into power. So commuting motorcyclists get shafted and there's disappearing motorcycle bays and few other road benefits - for instance all the local London councils like Camden won't let motorbikes in their bus lanes (yet TFL still do) as it'll upset their valuable voting resident green lentil chewing cycle mafiosi. I stumbled across 44teeth a few weeks back and really enjoyed what I found there. The behind the scenes footage from Alastair Fagan at the BSB are actually kinda fascinating. Though the 'interview' videos you do really need a secondary mic setup to help with audio quality (but I'm nit-picking).

baron, if its not too personal how much do u pay a year for ins? I was quoted €320 (£180) last year for an xjr1300 & thought it was too much. ncb 21 yrs, 8 yrs not counted cause I was a courier :( treated as commercial ins.so they wouldn't allow it

Good to have you back Baron. How long is it? I lived in Western Australia for many years; always had a bike and never bought extra insurance. Very basic 3rd party cover is provided by the State when you pay the annual road tax, which is no more expensive than here in this Septic Isle. This, of course, means that anybody can pass his/her test ; chop in the 250 and ride off on a new R1 without having to pay a fortune to a company already rolling in it. The UK is a country run by Bankers for Bankers!

ironic... i have the AGV AX8 Dual Evo and ride a KLR with a rally double bubble screen. there is NO wind on the face of the helmet and i have a horrible time with fogging up in cold weather. at first, i was completely blaming the helmet, but i rode my wife's bike that doesnt have as good wind deflection... and realized it was the lack of wind on the helemt that was the problem. However, with my KLR, I haven't had a problem riding with my face shield cracked open a bit.

It's easy to hate on large "corporations", but people should understand the investments they make create a future for the world. It's a huge complex cycle but all the shit things we pay for like insurance help fund research budgets for new technologies. We wouldn't have some 200hp bikes if it wasn't for the certain corporations . Btw 44 teeth is a DOPE!

I bloody hate insurance companies, I pay 2600 a year for a £500 306, It's a fucking rip off, it's cheaper for me to ride a xj6 at £900 quid a month which is a fucking rip off as well,

In Denmark we have basic insurance, what we call “responsibility insurance” witch is necessary, in order to drive the roads. It covers all you break basiclly. Then there is full insurance, which covers all, damage on the vehicle, theft, and so on. It’s great if you don’t have money to full insurance´, :) only thing is that we have to pay 2-3 times more for our vehicles than most other country’s :/

Hey Baron, do you have to insure your motorcycle against theft in the UK? Or can you just have liability insurance (AKA to cover you if you are at fault in an accident)?

+Kwaka Mike That makes no sense... In the US you pay for everything you add on... I don't think it would ever be cheaper, then again I don't shop for insurance much. Ha!

+Richard Bibeault I think insurance companies put the price up on purpose so they don't lose money if you choose third party or with theft cover, it's a nasty trick they can get away with.
