@Fliedermous Жыл бұрын
I am really happy that there are bands like Soccer Mommy. The timeless realism is grounding and Sophie's honesty about herself is a good sign in our society. I was reading the comments and it is so great that we can open up about depression. It still has a stigma attached to it. You would think that losses like Robin WIlliams and Anthony Bourdain would have changed people's minds. The fact is that if you have never suffered from clinical depression, you cannot grasp its reality. Like riding a Harley Davidson, if you have to ask, you would never understand. Sophie is honest and the context of her lyrics can be rough. "Fire in the Driveway" is an example of opening up a conflict and coming to the root-cause in almost brutal fashion - with herself only "I can't bear to say it to your face." There is a sadness in that song that I feel when I listen to it, but it is an honest reflection of her feelings. That makes it OK.
