About 15 years ago I asked peeps at a party if they ever heard the cover of Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire" somebody yelled you mean Social D? I'v loved them ever since. Mike is awesome as a musician and a human.

Social D is super necessary.. if Mike passes (god forbid), there is literally nobody to fill the void it would leave. The last true rock n roll band . Mike bridges the gap between rockabilly and punk rock. And there will never be another guy or band as pure to come around ever again .

I kinda agree, but Volbeat is bridging a lot of the same gaps. They were definitely influenced by Social Distortion.

Hey this goes out to those who were there that night. I'm here not far from Fullerton, CA & if anything the band is the reason why I follow to this day. Nothing is fake, or misleading. Question I have is, can you please send me a link to see them in concert at pop's? Thanks

Never took Mike to be a ZZTOP fan or have them as one of his influences. Pretty good stuff. Looks like they are reworking "buying some time".

@rj zander Am I missing something here? I grew up in OC. Seen him solo and SD. Never heard such a rumor. Anything is possible, I guess. It's all just a show anyway. He can play prison tough guy all he wants. I teach part time in Salinas/Soledad prison. He would get traded for a 10 pack of Top Ramen noodle soup and a 6 pack of Mountain Dew.
