@@crystalclimenhage7159 exactly. There’s no way I would say any of these phrases to a guy I was dated. I’ve never been able to say anything without coming across as pathetic or clingy, and face being dumped or mistreated because of it. Now I keep my thoughts and feelings solely to myself. Now I get dumped for not being interested, but that’s way better than being dumped for being “clingy!”

giving compliments is bassicly showing your appreciation of his time and validation he has given you throughout the day/week. Overall woman dont value the time and validation we give them. but as soon as they show their appreciation of our time. It shows us your respect and that you enjoy us being around you. this makes us feel good, as most woman/girls I know expect you to give your validation. as soon as us men don't, woman starts to chase. But if we do us men see the little chances woman make in their replies and effort to appreciate the time they're getting for free. this is why some men ghost you and you get so obsessive. And this is also the reason the guys who DO give their validation for free without any appreciation of you. seem to be boring more often. **they're arround you 24/7 anyways. the men who ghost are scarce and you have to show appreciation before us men rewarding you with our validation and time. I still hope you have an amazing day and hopefully you slightly get what's going on here. Giving compliments is bassicly showing respect of our time. and this makes us want to protect you do things for you and want to be around you more. as you dont disrespect our time and take it for granted which other girls do. :)

Some men (like me) are really just not wired to think anyone is ''that'' into us. That does not mean that I find myself unattractive or anything, but I tend to be ignorant to the fact that I might actually have attracted someone when I have. I just think stuff like 'Oh, she's so nice!'' and ''Wow, what a good human being'' rather than ''Oh, wow, she is really doing that for *me* ?!'' and I just cannot help that. Now that I know it, it definitely is easier to deal with. There is a proverb in Germany: ''There are so many trees I could not see the forest.'' When I was 18, I was seeing the daughter of a motorbike mechanic. He told me he's got some bike parts for me to pick up and I could come over any time really quick before he and his wife go on a multiple-day trip, and so I did. I sat down at their table and their absolutely adorable daughter was sitting across, munching on a piece of cheesecake that her mom had made. Inside, I was definitely drooling more over her silky reddish-blonde hair, the adorable bangs and her cheeky smile with the cute, deep dimples than over that cake, and the fact she wore that floral dress I liked definitely added to the package. Her mom then offered me a piece, which I politely declined. If instead the daughter had offered it, I would have taken it, for sure. She took the last piece of it and when I said goodbye, she said that she would text me later when her parents were out. She did, and eventually at around 9 pm shot me a text reading ''So, maybe you wanna come and try that cake now?!'' I literally did not get a single thing and asked ''Is there still any cheesecake left?'' and she replied ''Haha, no you Dummy! :D'' and followed up with ''So...?'' Of course, I did not drive over to her place that night. After all, there was no cake and I am not an idiot. ...Or so I thought.

@@chelseyl.9157 You must have an incredible patience, then. Not only did she ''drop the handkerchief'', but the entire textile mill. It is great to see that such stories can still work out when the right batch of people meet. It took about a year until I actually got with her, simply because up until that point I acted as if I had no idea what her real intentions were and made little to no moves to meet her in the middle. That day, I had just come back from basic training and we hadn't seen each other in half a year, so I invited her over to have a chat to catch up with each other. Later that night it became clear we were going for far more than a chat, and she had a big grin on her face whispering something like ''I cannot believe it's happening!'' and I stopped for a second realizing that it described perfectly the state of mind I was in all that time. I was really thinking ''Yeah. Me neither.'' I had never realized how much it frustrated her. Needless to say: The cake turned out to be beyond amazing, too. Life happened, though, and we embarked on totally incompatible paths -split up. We definitely share some bittersweet memories and I still smile when I think about her, regardless of the absolutely insane things we said and did to each other when we finally realized it was all going south. I never really share much about myself on the net or anywhere else, but that experience taught me a lesson about myself, and I guess I cannot be the only one who is wired that way.

@@MN-re9oh We have never met again, and that's alright. I decided to pursue my career with quite some extra vigor and did not look back too much ever since. I have been doing alright, although at times it seems as though my rather aggressive ambitions ''out there'' could use a ''tender'' counterpart back home. When I think about it, though, I see that no one is there just for me. They have got their own cross to carry, and that's alright. The amount of time I spend and the things I do so far away would be asking too much from someone who's at the blossom of their life, somewhat ''designed'' to go out there and be with someone who is not just caring, but actually available. Those thoughts cross my mind the few nights I get to lay back and watch the sun set as my favorite soul music plays in the background. I might share those nights with someone genuine in the future who is willing to make that sacrifice, but I have not come across anyone like that, and I must admit that I can relate with anyone not willing, not ready, not compatible. People are people and I have learnt to part with a smile, especially knowing they will do just alright without me and vice versa. I will always leave the door open, but I do not expect anyone to feel at home with me when I am never at home myself.

Really, As a mature woman, and widow who had a very happy marriage to a wonderful man, I think most of those 14 phrases are a bit cheesy, fake, submissive! Would an intelligent mature man really believe all that " little girly, silly me" stuff? I dont think so! I adored my husband. I let him know this daily, in simple words and in little gestures. Tea in bed. An unexpected hug. Lots of fun and laughter. A surprise gift. And, yes, lots of admiration and gratitude....but not in a " pathetic little me" way.....

Here some more phrases from girls : 15- < Thanks for asking (...) > : when you ask her first, before doing something, so they can answer yes or no, you give them the sign that you care about her opinion and feelings, they feel respected, and see you as someone they can trust. 16- < You are so strong. > : if you help them when they need a hand to do some heavy work, if they see you doing something very difficult, or if you allow yourself to speak about something bad that happened to you and that you overcame, they will see you as somebody braver than they thought, and be happy to know you. 17- < I like when you do that. > (varient of the "gentleman" phrase) : show kindness and politeness, and they will see that you care for them, and respect their rules or boundaries. 18- < Thanks for your implication. > : when you do something just to help, so they don't have to do it alone, they will appreciate, but take care not to be "invasive" and do it all by yourself. Women like help, but the don't want you to take their place or role.

Maybe this is just a cultural or personal thing, but as a man from Sweden i only found one of these phrases attractive and that was "I like your way of thinking". Many men do generally like being needed by women, however here in Sweden it is very common for men and women to be seen as equal. Men as a result are only somewhat providers, as women can also provide for the home. Also the chores are normally split equal depending on long they are at their jobs. Some of these phrases i can see how some men might be attracted, however others i can't. Most of them i would just react with "Ok, thanks".

I believe when I started speaking to him, I told him he had all the qualities I was looking for. Attractive, handsome, definitely a hard-working which is a major turn on. Told my sister he was "interesting " & there was something different about him that I was attracted too. Our convos always easily flowed & he definitely made me laugh. Mentioned sweet & appreciated the small gestures he did. I wanted to talk to this particular person to tell him more but I wasn't going go throw myself at him & chase him around to do so. But proud of him would be on my mind rn bc he definitely works hard & seems very motivated which I like & not my place to say, but a really good dad as well. I wanted to talk to let him know my exact feelings. The feelings have to be mutual tho for me. I never got to the "u are the best" yet but I'm sure I could & I never got to tell this guy that I was more attracted to all the effort he put in when I won my prize back in April. I thought it was sweet & cute that he sent out emails daily just to let everyone know he was still working on it. The prize wasn't what interested me, it was the motivation & effort that did & he never knew that he told me to pick it up but he would be on the phone from 1130am-1230pm taking calls & I got there at 1125am & luckily when I got out to go inside to have him bring It to me. I saw that text, (i still have every single last text from the first day in my phone, thst one included, ive never erased one of them, i just dont go back & read them all from day 1 like i use too. Bc it definitely hurt too much) so got back in my car & waited a hour & 5mins to get back out & go in & just the simple fact he wanted to bring it to me, really made me happy more than the prize. It was the effort & sweetness I saw in him that I haven't in anyone else. & he's very very attractive. If he only knew. But I need to feel appreciated too & told the same bc it can't be a oneway street bc I do value my time, but there's something genuinely different & special about him & I only write what I truly mean. If I'm not interested in someone, bc I don't get easily interested in men, u would know. But I fell in love with him not meaning too.

I have a question. How do males and females bond with each other? I don't see how men and women can bond (especially romantically) with each other. Men and women think very differently from each other. I heard that lesbian relationships are healthier because they understand each other. If both partners understand each other, they won’t want to break up with each other. I also heard that women have higher rates of depression when married (in straight relationships). There is a very small percent of women that are happy in heterosexual relationships. So it's very hard for men and women to bond with each other and have a strong bond with each other. Both men and women think differently, behave differently, react in a different way. The more similar two people are, the easier it is to relate and understand each other, resulting in a better, more fulfilling connection. I also read somewhere that even with the divorce rates what they are, most heterosexual marriages that don't end in divorce are still unhappy, and can absolutely relate to experiencing significantly more depression while married than while single.

@EYRM9 Women are usually more emotionally intelligent than men and they are more alert and responsive to the emotional well-being of other women. Women on average connect better with each other. Women emotionally connect a lot better with other women than they do with men. The emotional connection between two women is a lot stronger than the emotional connection between a man and woman is. Female friendships are a lot more intimate than male friendships. Women tend to form strong emotionally intimate connections with other women, while it's the exact opposite for men. Women can easily be vulnerable and have emotional intimacy, while that doesn't happen for men. Men and women just can't bond emotionally with each other. It's impossible for men and women to emotionally connect and have a strong bond with each other. Men and women are just not compatible with each other.
