So glad you like it! Honestly, I sometimes add it, just dissolve 2 tablespoons in the liquid parts of the recipe. I normally use instant coffee

I just made this and it was perfect! Thank you so so much. At first the batter had lumps of butter in it so I was scared but I think that’s all due to my butter not at room temp? I used a little more milk and it thinned out and I baked it and it’s soo soft and moist. I loved it. Thank you!! Also, can I make a layered cake from this and put it in a round tin instead? :)
@CasualCookery3 жыл бұрын
Yes, probably the butter used had a higher quantity of water. That's why I prefer butter with at least 80% fat. But so glad you've managed to get a delicious and moist cake. And yes, you can also use a round tin. I wouldn't go for a very large round tin, otherwise, you would have to double the quantity.

How will it be different if u cream the butter and sugar first before adding the eggs? Also, the subtitles says 1 tbsp of baking powder, but the description says 1 tsp.
@CasualCookery4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Can you please tell me in which language have you seen the subtitles? For other languages, I use an automatic translation that fails sometimes. It's 1 teaspoon! flour 160g. cocoa powder 30g. a pinch of salt baking powder 1 tsp. sugar 200g. softened butter 115g. 2 eggs (room temperature) vanilla extract (as you wish) milk 120ml lemon juice 2 tsp. As for the cream and sugar creaming before adding the eggs. I haven't tried it for this cake, but it shouldn't ruin it!. Let me know!
@_blue_roses47934 жыл бұрын
Is the cocoa powder really 30grams because 2 tablespoons is 30grams and the amount of cocoa powder u used didn’t look like 2 tablespoons. Can u pls tell me how many tablespoons or cups it is ?

Hi! Yes, exactly 30grams. I use a scale for all of my recipes, so that's the correct amount.

I doubled the recipe to fill my baking pan but unfortunately the 45 minute baking time left the center too liquidy. Baking is complicated!
@CasualCookery2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear so! Yes, for that quantity the baking time should be longer. Just use a toothpick to see if it is baked. If it comes out clean, then the cake is baked.
