The hole on the bottom of the sheath is so it can be sheathed without being collapsed.

I bought a pair of Raptors but returned them for these scissors. While it isn't as heavy duty, that's why I wanted it. I didn't need something as heavy and beefy as the Raptors. This pair collapses down smaller and has more tools I'd rather have compared to the Raptors. SOG makes good stuff.

I would probably just prefer the shears minus the implements. It looks very similar to the Leatherman Raptor. The SOG looks good for home, hobbyist or to put in the shed. Little tip: worn out old t-shirts, sweatshirts and socks make great rags for emergency spills, accidental pet spots and shop use.

I wonder if a miniature version of this with just the scissors would actually be a fantastic option. The Parapint ? A PowerPint sized emergency shear.

If the price wasn’t so close to the price of the Raptor, this would be a much more compelling option. But the SOG stamped sheet metal just doesn’t compare to the thick stock shears from Leatherman.

Good point.

I hadn’t seen those. Looks like a pretty nice try at the Leatherman Raptor. You’re right though, those thumb and finger holes being doubled like they are, sure don’t look heavy duty… or comfortable for that matter. Even the Raptor is not all that comfortable to use, but in their defense, even standard paramedic shears aren’t comfortable. 🤷🏻♂️

They seem pretty nice. I would love to see some folding electrician shears in this size. I guess I can always dream lol!

@@hvacbudget8600 yep, that would be a nice tool… those are never all that ergonomic or comfortable to use either.

Locking cutter - is it a seatbelt cutter? Perhaps a visit to a nearby auto salvage yard to get some used seatbelts to cut on your videos, is warranted.

Great idea!

Real Leatherman Tread on your wrist or knockoff version? Either way, have you had an occassion to use it?
@hvacbudget86002 жыл бұрын
Not really. I used the screwdriver just in testing and it worked fine. It's a knockoff and I modified it to fit the cheaper Casio watch so I like it as a worst case scenario tool.

Nope. I have a Raptor so this SOG looks like a discount ripoff.
