Crazy how similar those shunts are. Almost like they were made in the same factory. 🤔

I have my suspicions too! 😉

I bet the only difference is the plastic cover with different logos on the monitor. Probably the exact same thing.

Could you possibly do a video hooking one of these up on a 36 volt DC EZGO Golf cart ? I got the Renogy monitor but can't seem to get the display to illuminate after following the installation one in their very limited manual. I called Renogy tech support but they were not much help regarding a golf cart install. Nice videos, thanks ! Mike C.

Did you have to deplete your battery to get it calibrated?
@THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD2 ай бұрын
I calibrate at the top of charge! They are very close even done this way, maybe only 2-3% off. I never go much below 50% SOC anyway so it’s ok with me! It’s recommended for max accuracy to deplete the battery bank and let it count the energy coming in. Hope this helps!

Would the li time be effective with a single lithium iron phosphate battery?
@THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD9 ай бұрын
Yes! Either battery monitor has adjustable settings/parameters so you can tailor to your needs!

What gauge wire did you use?

On this 12V system I use 4/0 windy nation cables to victron 600A bus bars. I have the 3000W inverter fuse de-rated to 300A. Never go much above 70% load. I always oversize and underutilize! Battery cables are 1/0 with each battery having its own 100A OCPD.

Wow, these are a lot cheaper than the Victron BMV 712 shunt and little round monitor I installed a few years ago. The one thing I do like about my unit is it will record power usage! You can look at the chart on a phone and see where power was used or came in.

Unfortunately with the budget oriented stand alone units, Bluetooth/WiFi aren’t normally included. Renogy has a BT module that can track parameters like the Victron units that goes with their proprietary products! I’m sure the other manufacturers aren’t far behind!
