This is a video which is a first look at the components I'm using for my lithium based solar power accumulator (solar generator).

Started watching this tonight, not sure if you've put it into a playlist so can watch it as a series? I'll have a look. I'm interested as I'd like to make a similar(ish) project but more of a DIY booster/jump pack for car batteries and a general 12V source, similar size to yours. I know people may say "why build when you can buy" but I've got a decent collection of unused/new 18650 batteries harvested from drill/power tool batteries, when I checked the spec they don't have a great capacity per cell (1350 mAh) but their max discharge output is pretty high (15000mA), so they would lend themselves pretty well to jump pack duties, short bursts of boosting or topping up a car battery, or thats my theory anyway.

Thank you. I'm sorry if I waffle, I'm not great at video production.

You have a lot of fun toys here. :) What voltage will the inverter shut down at as the batteries can go down to around 3V each

The inverter shuts Dow at 10.2 volts, which is ideal as I don't want to fully deplete the Lipo's using the inverter. The Lipo's have around 360 Whr of energy, with around 250 Whr being available for the inverter. This will give approximately 30 minutes power time at the 500 Watt output, leaving a reserve capacity of around 100 Whr available for USB output and the power sockets. Incidentally I left out a 10 Amp DC to DC converter, which I am going to wire to one 12 Volt output. This will provide a stable 12 Volt supply for voltage fussy item's. I'll cover this in more detail when I start the build.

@@johnnodge4327 I guess that makes sense. The batteries will be at 3.4V when the inverter cuts out. If you charge them to 4.0V or 4.1V you'll have just over half a volt to use. It's a pity you can't make it 24V as the sums work out better at 7S to get the best from the batteries.

@ Ali Bro I did think about going to a 7S pack, but that makes it more complicated in that the 12 volt plugs would need buck converters. Also charging from solar means series panels, which again makes charging from my 12 Volt workshop power difficult. I'm happy with current design, but may well "tweak" the finished project later on.
