Edit: I looked the page up, Luthor said 10 feet, not 10 meters. Regardless, that's an official number, at least for the nebulous (in regards to Superman continuity prior to Secret Origins) and relatively brief post-Infinite Crisis pre-New 52 period. The number may have been different for other versions.

That's the problem with comics, Flash is also canonically trillions of times faster than light, and can react instantly to anything. So for example, if a bullet were to him him, he would react to it, turn around, and see that a bullet was attempting to pierce his skin, all in the time it takes the bullet to move even a milimeter. Yet, he has been taken down with bullets many times; same applies for Superman, he's not THAT fast, but he's still much faster than light, no bullet or arrow should ever be able to catch him offguard in any possible scenario.

Among other things, the editorial answers included "Q Rays" (never saw a story with them), various colors of Kryptonite, and one interesting fact: Kryptonite was immune to friction. They pointed out that it's kryptonite radiation which actually harms Superman. If the supply of kryptonite did run out, there have been lots of versions of synthetic kryptonite. Also, that grave had enough space for the population of Kandor, which is a majority of the surviving kryptonians (they are shrunk rather small, though).

@@soldier22881 In theory, yes. Most comic writers didn't actually think of that, so I don't think I ever saw a radiation which wasn't kryptonite that had a similar effect. Often, Justice League and Legion of Super-Heroes stories had some plot device with 'a bit of kryptonite added to affect Superman/Superboy', but it was legitmate kryptonite. Superman did trick a Kryptonian villain into recreating the same chemical reaction which forms kryptonite (and thus incapacitating himself with the small amount of kryptonite made).

@@calebowens693 there's actually a villain named Conduit who just emited radiation so strong it affects Superman the same as kryptonite. Radiation can definitely affect him in potent enough levels, but you don't even need to go that far, synthetic kryptonite or just copying the frequency of kryptonite should theoretically be enough since all radiation is just energy that moves in a specific wave frequently. Despite the whole kryptonite rarity thing, it should be pretty easy to replicate it in its most basic form.

He's starting to feel closer to Homelander with the reliance of heat vision
@LaffyTaffy04Күн бұрын
Heat Vision was his thing before Homelander even existed. This is just Clark taking back what's his.
If that's the case then son wukong would also feel closer to homelander because he also has. Laser eyes

How else would he destroy Kryptonite from range?
@Konfusion8888Күн бұрын
To be fair, there aren’t many things and people that can really survive heat vision so don’t fix what ain’t already broken.

@@Quezanater debatable. Personally I'm not that interested in him compared to Spider-Man or Captain America, but he isn't necessarily boring.

There’s this one problem with exploding rocks: You get more, tiny rocks
@TwoToneShoesКүн бұрын
Same situation with The Flash. He's not really weak to "cold." He's gets stopped by absolute zero, which stops all moving particles and by definition instantly stops anyone and everything. Everything's weak to absolute zero. It is to Flash what Magic is to Superman.
@shaden489Күн бұрын
Yeah but he still does have an ice weakness as the lack of friction can make it difficult for him to co troll his speed properly. He also has a weakness to certain types of stick traps that cause him to be unable to move
@lhfirexКүн бұрын
I think a year or two ago Solid jj made a video making fun of Flash slipping on ice in some story though, so that's probably what they're referencing.
@TwoToneShoesКүн бұрын
@@shaden489 Not really. Flash already goes so fast that any friction would cause fusion explosions if you're trying to be realistic about it. He's run in space before. Saying "he could slip" is funny because, well, Batman could also slip on a slippery surface if he's moving. Being forcibly immobilized is not a weakness, either. These are just things that are good against anyone. It's like saying Batman's weakness is aggressive strains of cancer, lol.
@TwoToneShoesКүн бұрын
@@lhfirex Yeah, Batman called Flash a "Seasonal hero" in one of his more classic videos.
@shaden489Күн бұрын
@@TwoToneShoes i mean technically a weakness isnt defined as something specific to that person so id say it counts as a weakness even if its a more generalized one. also as far as the ice thing goes flash has been put on ice plenty of times before and lost his footing i believe it happens several times in the justice league animated series alone.

Joker later found out a weakness for Superman, and let’s just say Supes wasn’t too happy about that .
@jaidoraКүн бұрын
Nor did Lois, that’s why he called Superman easy mode.
Joker who was powered by Mr. Myxyzpltlk canonically lost to Superman, let's say he wasn't happy about that.

To a similar effect the opening of DC Online shows a clever usage of his friends and loved ones as well as Kryptonite. Superman got worn down by a huge fight and was sun bathing out in space to heal and power up. The Legion of Doom takes that moment to rush the Justice League and pump Wonder Woman with liquid Kryptonite so when he rushes back to save her he gets taken off guard then Lex comes up behind him and stabs him with a Kryptonite Spear. Honestly pretty effective and would have worked if Brainiac didn’t show up seconds later

Wouldn’t the kryptonite vaporize, making it MORE deadly? Like you can’t destroy matter. It doesn’t just. Go away.
@TheGruspastejКүн бұрын
Well. You CAN destroy matter. But probably not with a laser unless supermans eye lasers got some special weird-ass property.
@lvlHiveКүн бұрын
@@TheGruspastej I just assumed his lasers can do whatever he wants them to do after he kept using them to beam clash and overpower darkseids eye beams which literally erase things from existence, but oh the long list of weird things supermans eyes can do...

@ ok fair. Magic does exist.

It's Kryptonite,not Kryptonium.The molecular structure of the rock is implied to be essential for its effect,so tearing it apart would render it harmless.

There are other entities out there as strong or stronger than Superman. Easy. Shazam for one. And Shazam is a good guy. Not to mention there are a bunch of legitimately insane weapons out there in the DC universe. One of my favorites was something like a Dimensional Sniper Rifle that fired a dimensional bullet with kryptonite in it into Superman’s brain.
