FINALLY! I've been looking for a shadowboxing like routine for Judo. I think shadowing the movement is the best way to learn it. THANK YOU Sensei Sampson

I ve learned Judo from 11 to 24th. But only after 57 yo I took notice about how important are these movements. Its like a dance that you have perfect coordination and get the exact time to do each one. Even for the explosion the steps are very importante to transmit the momentum to the hole body and arms. Thanks again

Thanks Sensei Sampson. I've always been more of a boxing man, however I've also been fascinated in learning the art of judo, given the prevalence of defensive techniques.

Very nice job. The footwork in judo reminds me so much off soccer skill movement. I wonder would soccer players be able to learn judo movement faster for that reason.
@VideoKaizen_Lucas_Villari10 ай бұрын
I've played football all my life, started judo at 24 and I've been learning extremely quickly, in fact everything feet related was almost immediately burnt into my mind so yes, it is in fact way easier with those prior skills.

Nice. One qualm: the avoidance of deashi. Lifting the knee is ineffective. Pulling the foot backwards without moving the knee removes the foot from danger the furthest (lifting the knee leaves the leg still available for a continued modified deashi) and is the fastest and most efficient movement to elude then immediately attack.
@SampsonJudo4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I understand your Qualm, however i've used that exact avoidance technique more times than I can count. It works.
@PhysiKarlz4 жыл бұрын
@@SampsonJudo I've thrown everyone who uses that style of attempt at avoiding deashi. The movement is too cumbersome and can be easily simultaneously felt or seen. A quick flick of the foot backwards cannot be reacted to and followed upon like can be done with the knee lift. Foot follows foot or kind of "sticky foot" modified deashi. Easy counters to this evade. Try this evade. This advice is also coming from my father Goran Žuvela.

Karl, I think It’s called Tsubamekaeshi Immediate counter attack for deashi My 8yr old son been practicing this since age 6. Assuming it’s quite normal routine of practice in japan among ordinary dojos. Though executions seems to take place in higher level. It breaks the balance of offense quite easily, since expecting defense reaction is getting counter with it
@PhysiKarlz4 жыл бұрын
@@AceInose Tsubame-Gaeshi, yes I know the technique and how it works. Not sure why the description. I've been doing Judo myself for 26 years now and my father for over 50. I myself have been to Japan 3 times and competed on the Australian national team. My father has been to Japan several times and competed on and then coached the Yugoslavian team. We know what we're talking about, though I shouldn't have to give all that info for such a basic technique. The foot is pulled backwards towards one's bottom to best avoid the attack and to allow for the quickest return of a counter attack. Lifting he foot with the knee allows the opponent to follow the foot, never allowing a counter attack to occur.
@PhysiKarlz4 жыл бұрын
@@AceInose kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYuYnpiYitmWpZI Notice the foot is pulled towards one's bottom. Terre are no easily found videos on follow up attack if one's opponent lifts the foot instead of retreats it, however I could describe it loosely: tori follows the foot of uke upwards and either continues the similar deashi movement or pushes it into the other leg of uke, similar to okuri-ashi-barai.

Is it required to stay on the ball of the feet, heels up when you squat? Or is it just depending on how much mobility you happen to have?
@SampsonJudo10 ай бұрын
In judo you want your weight on your toes so I would advise that to keep the movement as close as possible to judo
