Video idea: what things did you research/which questions did you need answering before you went ahead with solo parenthood? You mention things that I haven’t even thought of so it would be good to know what I need to look into ❤

100% felt that expectations on ourselves talk! It's SO TRUE!

The expectations from a partner to have it "all together and done" is a burden also that single parents don't have! Not all partners are equal and if they're not supportive and helping as much as you are then it can become a burden! Obviously, I'm not saying one is better than the other, just that there are definitely pros and cons to each and it all deprnds on the people involved! 😊

Something that I would find very helpful to hear about, as a big fan of planning and preparation, would be tips on planning financially for solo parenthood (if you would be comfortable sharing, of course!). Thank you thank you for all of your videos, they're a huge highlight in my days! 😊❤

My daughter is in contact with six of her 14 known Dibling. She absolutely loves being able to go online and chat with them, play games and just get to know them. She has met five of them and they have so many things in common, not just their looks, but their mannerisms And their like dislikes. She has told us many times so grateful that we have the opportunity in the US to have found a donor sibling group where she has support from her Dibling and the support of their parents, well her mom‘s have support from the other parents. The kids have freely opened discussions of how and when they want to meet their donor and the reasons why. They respect one another, including those who do not want to meet the donor and their reasons. They will not push anyone or make any of their siblings feel bad Because they’re not ready or don’t feel the same way, they listen openly to all reasons and discuss it a very grown up. All the points she brought up are very valid under the same things that my wife and I thought about for our child.

Oren is pine tree in Hebrew, and Orin is a little light in Hebrew, so regardless of how you spell the name it sounds very lovely, and has a beautiful meanings

Interesting your experience with cerazette postpartum. I went back on it a few weeks postpartum (didn't realise that's not recommended) and luckily had no issues with milk supply. Came off it again recently and I've noticed such a big difference in mood. Cerazette makes me quite mellow, all the time. It's really nice to have my natural cycle with boosted mood and creativity for part of it, even if I get a lower mood premenstrual.

It’s so nice to see you & others embracing solo motherhood to be normalised which I hope to as well someday. My question regarding solo motherhood would be how to deal with people like parents, relatives and/or others in general for judging you choosing to be a solo mother? Especially when I thought I’d have full support. I’m already dealing with others opinions on this before even having a baby. I thought about what if making friends with other single moms but being treated differently/judged for choosing to be a solo mother while they had to deal with breaking up/divorce or etc. Any advice on this?

My nephew’s name is Arlo, more common now but less so when my sister picked it out. I love it and it feels like a similar vibe to Oryn. A cool name but one that can suit any age!

Love your videos. One questions about solo motherhood. If someone close to you (like your parents) had told you that they had genuine concerns about you doing this would you have a) wanted them to tell you and b) would it have changed your mind?

Love the video, just wondering if you have felt like you failed your child down at any point because as my daughter was born by emergency cesarean and I wasn't able to breast feed I feel I failed her, and I feel awful because of this. How do I forgive myself for this?

Hi Bryony! Instagram kept telling me my question was too long so I couldn't send it (didn't even know that was a thing). But I wondered, did you pick the spelling Oryn (I've seen Orin and Oren as well) because your name has the y's as well? Or just coincidence? I thought it was neat that you chose that one so you two could have an extra connection!

I had 3 boy names - Levi, Liam and Noah.. Which I know are all very common in the US, but I'm in South Africa, so it's not too common. Liam is probably most common, then Noah, then Levi. My mom preferred Liam, and I was like... I'm not actually wanting your approval, just gave you the list 😂 but my son is Levi and I love it! I've never actually met anyone with that name here. I actually enjoy making most decisions on my own... I sometimes ask my sister for advice or opinions... Also, in South, unfortunately all donors are anonymous... I definitely couldn't afford an international donor.. So this was my only option. I have connected with 2 ladies that also have kids from that donor.. One has twins a few months older than my son, and the other has a singleton about 1.5 years older. We haven't met yet, but at least I have the option. DNA testing also isn't THAT common here as it's usually pretty expensive. Oh yes! My pregnancy was miserable! I was nauseous most of the time and definitely couldn't enjoy it.... My son is almost 16 months old and I don't feel bad if he doesn't always get home cooked meals. He goes to daycare during the week and at night he mostly eats what I eat.. But i always have pouches and yoghurt.. Because sometimes that's all he wants, or I give it to him as a snack.

So, The mood issues may be down to the pill. It was only after being on cerazette for a little while that I developed a propensity for depressive episodes. I don't think Cerazette makes you depressed, per se, but I do think that it highly increases the liklihood of a depressive eppisode if there are other factors. I had depression on and off throughout my 20s.Came off the pill in my early 30s and have been depression free ever since, so 5 years. I've had low days/strings of days here and there, but not proper depression. Though of course, the negatives have to be weighed against the benefits, and for you the benefits seem great. 💜

I wouldn't bother with the siblings. My nearly 1 year baby has a older brother and sister that are both 20 years older than him. My babies dads 11 years older than me. I've never met his kids and they have no interest in my baby. So I'm.lettkng them be the miserable people they are and getting on with life. Don't make oryns life harder than it needs to be x
