I see insecurity, if it makes you feel bad it’s because “they *made* me feel bad”, it’s classic I know you are but what am I projection, that self centered reaction where “they’re doing something that draws my attention” becomes “they’re doing it TO draw my attention”, like how when a bigot encounteres someone they don’t like it becomes a *them* problem for being noticable, shifting all the blame because the critique to their competency and having to actually own up and change is too much for them to handle. It’s such a massive source of shame that it was pointed out, that it *must* have been done to personally make them feel shame right, any justification comes after the fact to explain why they feel bad, the safe answer is that they did everything right which must mean someone else did something wrong (conveniently removing any reason for introspection or taking accountability). It’s the response of someone with no self confidence, “I meant to do everything right therefore anything wrong is not my fault!” belies massive insecurity, any critique gets dismissed because self reflection is too scary to handle, far far from what a confident person would do

There’s a small chain called Javier’s and the small restaurant we go to is basically run by Latin middle aged women/grandmothers. My younger sister learned Spanish while in elementary school and up, so when they see her they just melt because she likes to talk to them. I’m so proud, and awkward cuz then I’m like “gracias!” And it’s all I can say!😂😅 They make the best damn Mexican food, just big plates of deliciousness.😋

In your well to do location's it opened me up to new foods, techniques, people, and proper etiquette. that I would not have experienced at the corner pub. On the other side is short order with its own skill and language . For example, a 21 is 2 eggs on one plate. A 93 is 9 eggs on 3 plates.
