Why on God's green earth do kids in these stories think they would get in trouble if they tell, when they are the victims? I made it clear to my children at the youngest age that they could tell me anything! I taught them about stranger danger and unwelcome touches. A kid has to feel they have someone they can go to and feel they will be protected and believed! That last story had to be a traumatizing experience, and she carried that inside all these years until she submitted it. Thats sad!
@Ariplaygames4 жыл бұрын
As someone who grew up with a parent I couldnt trust, I understand why they would be scared to tell. My mother never believed me, minimized the things that were important to me cause I was a child and was in general raising me out of fear and not respect. There was a lot of bad things that happened to me because I couldnt trust any adult around me. It is really important as you said to let kids know you will believe them and support them and protect them!! Not only with big things, cause sometimes parents not trusting or believing you in something small can lead to you not saying anything when actually big big things happen.
@annie_xo4 жыл бұрын
Ariplaygames yup, I also rarely told my parents as a child when something happened because while they weren’t abusive or anything, I felt like they didn’t take me and my feelings seriously. So I just never told them about stuff because I was sure they wouldn’t try to understand my perspective and just get mad at me or something. I’m 26 now and still struggling with recognizing my emotions and having an outlet for them, and I’m constantly apologizing for things because I’m terrified of conflict and tend to always blame myself for things. This stuff can really set deep inside a person.
@WitchVine3 жыл бұрын
Sadly the parents of a lot of these people are pretty terrible and either don't believe them when they do tell about something or they say it's their fault, so the kids just don't tell them anything.

This happened to someone who used to be a friend of mine. She'd broken up with her husband and had been broken up for maybe 6 weeks. We kept on hearing noises from the ceiling and she started thinking she had rats. When someone looked up there.. it turned out her ex husband was living in her ceiling!!! Its all kind of freaking when you realize that someone has been listening to all the conversations you've been having about them.

Oh man my childhood home had a super creepy crawl-space that attached to my room through a closet. When I was 7/8 a very very drunk man had entered it through the door on the side of our house saw the light from the other door and had started to bang on it, probably the scariest thing I’ve ever witnessed

I don't know anyone who leaves their doors unlocked these days, I think it's just BS the authors are writing in these stories to make them interesting,or it's just the people who aren't very bright,that are dumb enough to still leave their homes unsecured. A lot of people have a lot of guns too,so it could be them leaving their homes unlocked because if anyone enters uninvited then they'll get shot.
@rhetteverette24064 жыл бұрын
Yes!! Is it laziness or craziness. Had a roommate who had a bad habit of leaving the door unlocked, he was a good friend but that type of ignorance is unforgivable

OK, your long distance fiance makes friends with a group of teenage guys who were still in school? And y'all aren't teenagers.... wtf? That is really odd imo
@pamalawashington93714 жыл бұрын
My first thought exactly! He answered that question, yet I still think it's a bad and weird move! He said the teens were mature for their age! Maybe the adults are immature for their age!
@liastorm7954 жыл бұрын
I mean it is odd, and you definitely gotta watch out for peoples intentions. But if adults and teenagers are "friends" I think it's fine if it's a mentorship, keeping them out of trouble, looking out for them in hard times, or just genuinely establishing a innocent and genuine friendship 🤷🏽
@annie_xo4 жыл бұрын
I thought that was weird too. I’m 26 and I can’t see any kind of situation where I’d develop a friendship with teenagers. Maybe if I got to know an 18/19 year old through work or something like that, but high schoolers? Nah man
@NatureLover-624 жыл бұрын
That entire situation sounds creepy...why would you be friends with high schoolers if you are at the stage of maturity and are about to be married?
