I got nothing against dropping weights but for deadlifts specifically, lifting the barbell is only half the battle. The other half is putting it back down in good form. So you're not reaping the full benefits of the workout. Think of bicep curls: do you only curl up and then drop your hand? Or you curl up and back down? Obviously you're strong enough to lift, but you should remove some weight and do the full exercise with proper form.

He fixed everything right as he was about to perform the lift. It was looking catastrophic at the beginning though!
@arod68993 Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t look “catastrophic” at all, you have just never Olympic weight lifted before. As a conventional dead lift this wouldn’t be very good, but the variation for sport and it is perfect. It’s just about perspective

He’s training for Olympic weightlifting not powerlifting, hence the jerk motion
@dennismatogo69163 жыл бұрын
Seems legit! Well done for keeping the back straight and having the perfect transition from when the legs carry the bulk of the weight to when the lower back takes over and the hips finish off. I would just lock the glutes at the end and gradually lower the weight on the 3rd rep to maximize on the negative rep, in the spirit of a Dorian Yates workout.
@oskaralvr89082 жыл бұрын
What are u on about? This wouldn’t be an efficient deadlift form if it hadn’t been for the fact that he’s training for a snatch or clean.
@ratnakarmalviya61912 жыл бұрын
I don't find any flaws with this. Sure he has a different styles but that doesn't make it wrong. His lower back is arched through and through, he's engaging his rhomboids, posterior delts and the teres major quite nicely, he's dropping the glutes. And those are some good lifting shoes. He is an experienced lifter.

Obviously not doing it right, his back was too straight and I didn't hear a fart at all.

@margrethemariebruubaklid99122 жыл бұрын
If this is for your clean only thing I can point out is your lower body extending first and your bum is up before you even extend your upper body and letting your back do all the work. For the clean remember that we want to extend upper and lower body at the same time to not loose power🙌🏽

My constructive criticism: 1 keep the bar touching you whole time 2 don’t let your shoulders go further forward than the bar These both but strain on your lower back 3 this is personal preference but keep your head in a neutral position with your spine to prevent spinal injuries

Lol. This just shows how some people can't help but to tell others how to lift. The title was clickbait. The person in the video was trying to attract views. His form is solid. I think only the fact that his last rep he didn't complete the eccentric. Other than that dudes solid. I do half reps all the time they still build muscle at the end of your set.

@soggybreh8103 жыл бұрын
The only problem is he’s exploding upwards and his hips change positions fast which causes a lot more force going to his spine you want that force going to your legs,but that’s it nothing else wrong good lift. To fix this I would first get the slack out of the bar by priming the lift first then exploding upwards. I believe powerlifters call it “Ripping” but I’m not sure.

Yesterday I deadlifted for the first time since SR year of HS. I put the bars over the middle of my feet. squatted all the way to the floor like a clean (this really helped keep my back straight) when I lifted off there was less strain on my back then usual and almost looks like this guys lift 💯

@luptonpittman6520 Жыл бұрын
Not bad. He needs to take the slack out of the bar and not jerk it.
@ESFoxwell3 жыл бұрын
Instead of snatching the weight at the bottom, as you're bringing down your rear you should be removing slack from the bar and creating tension before you ever pull. Also, seemed like your shoulders were a little over the bar, but that could be angle. Ideally you want your shoulders directly above the bar at the start.

This may be nitpicking, but since you're obviously advanced I think is worth mentioning. You could work on the tightness of your setup because your hips raise at the start of the movement causing your lower back to compensate and do more work than it should. Also the lockout is incomplete by a little bit, retract your scapula and squeeze the glutes. In reality you wouldn't get red lights for any of this, just small details. Other than that is pretty solid, nice to see a near perfect set of conventional dude 👍
@jonbrian46353 жыл бұрын
Was going to comment the same thing. Especially for a weightlifter. The closer to your 1rm the more important setup is. No sense in practicing bad habits at your ~90%
@Lickmabumbum Жыл бұрын
Not good at all - really need to learn to pull the slack out of the bar and strengthen the upper back, hips rising first on the concentric puts excessive pressure on the lower back, leading to dysfunctions and high potential for injury. Don't deadlift like that, please
@dharantejav3375 Жыл бұрын
Finally a critic who made a comment about the truth other than "damn he's good" I started deadlifting with worse form initially, then I saw this guy's deadlift form and thought "damn, he's great and people are actually supporting him, so this must be the form I should practice", but 2 yrs later after watching 1000s of deadlift videos and continuous practise, and after checking and correcting my form for like 100s of times, I came back to this video once again. Then I pointed out the same mistakes you've pointed out and was absolutely mind-blown to see how many people just blindly behave like they're experts in this field 🤦. This is why you shouldn't blindly follow people on social media. Research, learn, practice, correct your form. This should be the theme for fitness media, but it's all about showing off 🤦
