I had a dream once where me and one of my friends got hired to work backstage at WWE. We went into one of the rooms, and Eddie Guerrero was just sitting there. Me and my friend looked at each other and were like "Is that who I think it is?" and asked some guy nearby if that was really Eddie, and he was just like "yeah, that was all just a storyline to get him off TV, he wanted to work backstage" and I was just totally shocked. Then Eddie came over and was just like "Yeah esse...remember when I told everybody I was dead? I LIED!" It was the strangest feeling, because on one side I was so mad because they had fooled us all with a story in such poor taste...but at the same time I was so happy Eddie was actually still alive this whole time. When I woke up, a small part of me wished it was true, and that one day we'd all get to see Eddie again...

Thank You so much for doing this show, I'm born and raised in Arizona and have visited his grave a few times and I remember the day he passed, I was in shock and remember going to every toy store and buying every single Eddie Guerrero toy and DVD I could get my hands on. I read his book so many times when I was in high school, that it was always on me like a Bible. I was 16 when he passed and wanted to be just like him. My friends even had a ring in there back yard and would emulate as much as his move set that I could. He was the greatest.

This was a great look back at Eddie. We have been craving this episode for a while and it delivered. Eddie was able to take chicken shit stories that probably didnt look good on paper and it came across well on tv. I know Eddie came to WWE in 2000 but I think fans like me starting looking at him when he was with Chyna. They had so much fun and their chemistry was awesome. I think Eddie's death was the first one that felt like a punch in the stomach. In the moment, I swore I thought it was a death hoax rumor but I think it didnt hit me till I saw the tribute shows on Raw and Smackdown.

Eddie was special. I try to put my bias aside but it feels like eddie at any moment during a match could switch from heel to baby face back to heel and it would be believable. His facial expressions and demeanor were probably the greatest of any character. I don't think eddie could ever be considered a jobber. He could make the 24/7 championship into a legitimate title on par with the intercontinental in today's WWE. We miss you eddie. Thank you for the memories as a Mexican kid.

@hardwoodthought12132 жыл бұрын
It’s probably related to the idea many have in wrestling that Mexicans abandon their stars quickly when they get beat, and with Eddie being a smaller guy (for wrestling) he was never going to be champion for years, so would his losing of the title result in his home country losing interest Although, I think he was such a character and so loved they wouldn’t have cared but it’s been a stereotype of Mexican wrestling fans for decades

I get really tired of The Radicalz argument between these two. I think Conrad has selective memory when it comes to their debut and Guerrero's injury causing a change in the finish. Two guys were supposed to win, the other two lose. Malenko lost to X-Pac after a low blow, Guerrero/Saturn lost after Eddie broke his arm and caused the finish to be changed and rushed, and Benoit lost despite making Triple H tap out when the ref had been knocked down. There's no shame in losing to the world champion, but especially not when you make them tap out. None of them "jobbed" to the WWF guys (who were heels), and it had the exact opposite effect of killing their careers. On the other hand, I do think Bruce has the WWE mindset of wanting talent to turn chicken crap into chicken salad, and when they can't it's usually the talent's fault.

I fucking hated that whole Eddie vs. JBL feud. To follow up Lesnar and Angle with THAT was an abomination. Set aside the irresponsibility of involving an elderly woman in a physical angle, and it just didn't even make sense from a booking standpoint. JBL was nowhere near the World Title scene and this just reeked of shoehorning him into the main event scene. He was basically 2004's Jinder Mahal. Plus you risk making the heel into the babyface, because what happened to Mrs. Guerrero was clearly not JBL's fault and that could build sympathy for him. Add in the vignettes with JBL and the illegal immigrants, and it just crossed that line from stupid to distasteful. It was actually one of the factors that turned me away from watching WWE over the next few months and getting heavily into ROH.
