Well said, Mike ! I do believe there are criminal organizations WITHIN the organizations which are tasked with law, order and justice. The next peel of the onion is : The leader of a criminal organization ( ANC) appoints the top executives of these organizations. Until we totally remove political party influence from our management structures, this problem will persist. Politicians will do as they like, riding on a well developed patronage system.

In my view, the entire problem started in 1984... when General Sales Tax (GST) was replaced with a Value-Added Tax system (VAT) and raised. SA's economy is growing at 1% at most, while VAT remains at 14%... discouraging business investment. General Sales Tax (GST) - 3 July 1978: 4% - 1 March 1982: 5% - 1 September 1982: 6% - 1 February 1984: 7% - 1 July 1984: 10% - 25 March 1985: 12% • Value Added Tax - 30 September 1991: 10% - 7 April 1993: 14% The government started raising VAT and that extra tax burden on producers and consumers causes a massive increase in food price inflation, because most of our food is imported etc. A slow down in investment in food production. The idea was to gain taxes from everyone, rich and poor, but VAT is a tax that hurt the poor the most so, crime skyrockets because food prices are skyrocketing, food, clothing, fuel, there's your basic necessities, combined with unemployment, high electricity prices.... food inflation is not 5%, it's 20%+ a year. So they are underreporting food inflation. SA needs to remove VAT on all products we can produce, our agricultural and other products, so that we can produce a surplus... to keep food inflation down. A lack of GDP growth is why we have crime, government has taxed the life out of the economy. SA's personal income taxes are the highest in Africa, 45% +.... and crime is a tax. Insurance against crime is a tax. So tax is a crime.

2 things discipline and respect -having rights and not applied will result in infringing on some 1 else having freedom of speech without those 2 is chaos and blasphemy having laws without those 2 is no law at all

Your comments reflect many peoples views...unfortuantely we have the issue where the poor is blind, the masses have no insight and many do not care...have no forsight. We should live Mohadmar Ghandi philosophy: Be the change you want to see.... STOP at the stop street...even if no one is watching...

In the 80's I hiked down the wild coast and there was no crime, you cant say the same today so I don't think apartheid is to blame!

Apartheid only is to blame? What about British Rule and their laws now hidden? In fact those that voted for rule by politicians are all to blame for agreeing to it!

Stop talking shit about apartheid and keep on referring to apartheid if you run out of ideas to talk about.
