I think what I love most about this performance is that Tyler sounds so shy and nervous when he introduces the song but then both he and Josh completely turn that around with all the energy they put into the song, it really shows the impact their music has on them.

This songggg man. Its insane to see how they're both so involved in the song, the ticks, the movements, the voice. Like, Tyler is fully in his own head giving everything he's got to this, insane.

lyrics: Am I the only one I know? Waging my wars behind my face and above my throat Shadows will scream that I'm alone Ive got a migraine And my pain will range from up down and sideways Thank god it's Friday Cause Fridays will always be better than Sundays Cause Sundays are my suicide days I don't know why they always seem so dismal Thunder, storms, clouds, snow, and a slight drizzle Whether it's the weather or the letters by my bed sometimes death seems better than the migraine in my head Let it be said what the headache represents It's me defending in suspense its me suspended in a defenseless test Being tested by a ruthless examiner Represented best by my depresssssssssssing thoughts I do not have writer's block, my writer just hates the clock It will not let me sleep, I guess I'll sleep when I'm dead and sometimes death seems better than the migraine in my head Am I the only one I know Waging my wars behind my face and above my throat Shadows will scream that I'm alone But I know I've made it this far, kid Yeah yeah yeah I am not as fine as I seem Pardon Me for yelling I'm telling my green Gardens Are not what's growing in my phsyche It's a different me A difficult beast feasting on burnt down trees Freeze frame Please let me paint a mental picture portrait Something you won't forget It's all about my forehead And how it is a door that Holds back contents that make Pandora's box contents Look non violent Behind my eyelids are islands of violence My mind shipwrecked this is the only land my mind could find I did not know it was such a violent island, Full of tidal waves, Suicidal crazed lions They're trying to eat me Blood running down their chin I know that I could fight or I could let the lions win I begin to assemble, What weapons I can find Cause sometimes to stay alive you've got to kill your mind Am I the only one I know Waging my wars behind my face and above my throat Shadows will scream that I'm alone But I know we've made it this far, kid Yeah yeah yeah And I will say that we should take a day to break away from all the pain our brains have the games not played alone And I will say that we should take a moment, and hold it, and keep it frozen, and know life has a hopeful undertone (x2) Am I the only one I know, waging my wars behind my face and above my throat Shadows will scream that I'm alone, But I know weve made it this far kid. Made it this far Made it this-

I love how these guys don't use bad language or are being degrading to women or use violence or drugs in their music! I'm happy to say I can play this music anywhere in front of anyone and not feel offended by their lyrics. These are genuine guys who share their passion, they are unlike anyone I have ever seen or heard!

+baragsd Same! They were great on the VMAs but A$AP had to use bad language and why? it adds nothing to a song! they manage to portray their feelings and pass on their message without using bad language!! Hopefully they will get some radio time now!
@oscmag139 жыл бұрын
+baragsd Etc.? The only other morally repugnant thing I can think of is violence. Either way, every time I personally turn on the radio I hear cheesy/shitty pop songs about puppy love or break ups.
@oscmag139 жыл бұрын
+Molly Pinson Why does it matter if they use "bad" language or not? That vocabulary has a place and it just wouldn't fit musically with their light sound and overtly serious lyrics.

God I remember seeing them for the first time 3 years ago when they were opening up for Imagine Dragons. They were the second band to play and I honestly didn't know what to think of them. I remember Tyler coming out with this skull hoodie zipped up, and Josh wearing a skii mask. I think I laughed when they first came out.. and then Tyler started talking. He was joking with everyone because the crowd was starting to come in but the chairs were still fairly empty. I honestly didn't know what the fuck to think and so I just smiled. Then Tyler started singing and then it was like.. holy shit. I stood there a bit stunned because he was so energetic and he was bouncing around so much. I was blown away, I started bouncing along with him not knowing any of the words to their songs but the uniqueness and the realness of the performance struck me. The moment I went home I listened to everything they have ever done and I have yet to get tired of it. They are so unique and great and I love them.
