behemoth was black metal (for their first two records) but now they are what is called blacked death (which is death metal with black metal influences) but most people categorize them as black metal even though they sound very different from other black metal bands

Love Behemoth - Nergal speaks out about women's issues quite a lot, and even though I don't live in Poland I still feel connected to the women there and I appreciate his efforts so much. And...their music makes me FEEL. Thank you for checking them out :)
@MattFarkas3 жыл бұрын
That's so great to hear! Sometimes metal dudes have a stigma attached to them that they're a bit misogynist, and I'm always glad to see when that's not actually the case. Another reason to love this band!

What kind of women's issues?
@skeezaworkan3 жыл бұрын
@@shvabzee like total no-no for abortion, even if fetus is dying inside the womb. Last month a woman died in hospital because doctors were afraid to abort dying fetus. And they were afraid of prison. That's totally crazy. Poland became a cato-taliban under current government.

@@shvabzee Just woke leftist stuff which isn't popular in a traditionalist country like Poland.
@gulanhem94952 жыл бұрын
@Marvda Yes. Poland is so based right now and one of the best nations in the world. Nergal wants to be a rebel, a protestor, but in essence he is siding with the woke totalitarian marxists who are trying to conquer all of the West.

I probably could not sit and listen to a whole album of this style music, but, like you, I can appreciate the talent in this band. So it's a thumbs-up for me.

I would probably agree. I enjoyed it, but I definitely would need something to break up the death metal-ness every now and then if I'm listening to a whole album, like Opeth did with their acoustic sections.

@@MattFarkas I recently purchased Opeth, Pale Communion. It's not death metal so it should be fine. It's scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

Nergal (Adam Darski) has a phd, and specializes in ancient Sumerian study. A lot if not the bulk of Behemoth is directly written from Sumerian influences. He truly puts a lot into the final cut, it's pretty respectful tbh

I haven't seen this answered in the comments, so I'll go ahead; Behemoth is considered Blackened Death Metal, a subgenre that merges the 2 in a quite distinguishable way. Other bands from that genre that pop to mind are Goatwhore, Belphegor and 1914. Cheers!

It's so funny opeth was my gateway into this genre as well. If you can handle the grand conjuration, you can handle most of the extreme metal side, assuming there's some melody

One thing I seen most people don't recognize about this song is the line " The black sun never sets, For it never rose" is mocking Nazis, as the Order of the Black Sun was the Occult Division of the Nazi Army and the symbol is used as a way to identify Neo Nazis who practices ways of the Occult.
