Okay, y'all know how Eggman always appears as the boss at the end of an old Sonic zone? Well, just IMAGINE his reaction to Modern Sonic absolutely DESTROYING his defenses with tricks Classic Sonic doesn't have! He won't be the boss, HE'S GETTING OUTTA THERE! Maybe that's why Chemical Plant Zone is self destructing. Either that, or the fact that the place is constantly flooded with possibly flammable chemicals that could also possibly erode away the machinery.
