With Commander Brutus going AWOL, word on the street is Dr Robotnik can't cope with the reduced manpower so Sonic Amy and Johnny decide to take advantage of this situation to sabotage Robotnik at his base in Citadel Robotnik. Will there mission prove successful?

*Sonic the Hedgehog: Mission to the Metropolis Zone* 0:11 "OBEY! Not gonna give you a clear idea of who or what to obey, just do it!" 0:25 That's right Johnny, pose for the Wiki page. 0:57 Talk about getting hit by the ugly stick... or, gun as it were! Sonic looks about 30 years older when he gets knocked out. 1:01 I love Johnny's expression here. It's very "please don't shoot me"-ish. 1:06 It is said that when Amy Rose sucks in her lips, her speed and mobility increase a hundred fold! Don't ask me who said that though, I couldn't tell you. Meanwhile, Johnny has a fit of ACTING FEVER! and Sonic looks on in mild confusion while the Trooper holding him disapproves of Amy's lips sucking antics. Of course, on closer inspection it could just be a colouring error on her mouth. :/ 1:21 I think Robotnik's ill. Grimer! Don't just stand there looking worried, call him a doctor. "But he is a doctor." Indubitably. 1:29 I see Grimer's finished work on Robotnik's special line of personalised pin-up Troopers. Doc likes how they came out. 1:49 Wink wink, nudge nudge, don't tell Robotnik. 1:55 Robotnik: "Blasted bunny! The next time I capture you, I'll be serving coffee and cookies, and you'll like it!" 2:00 *Sees where Grimer's face and hands* Grimer: "Glad I wasn't them." Robotnik: "If you don't stop fondling me Grimer, you'll wish you were." 2:05 Yes, thank you for telling us the obvious Sonic. -_- That, or as the text box at 2:12 implies, he's telling Robotnik and Grimer... so why does his text box have the whisper outlines? Weird. 2:35 Robotnik: "Well you were just headed straight for it, so what was I supposed to think?" 2:42 Robotnik: "Nooo! My favourite ventilation grate! The room's Feng Shui is all off now!" 3:25 Where did they get that flying machine from? This story is a huge improvement from the last couple issues Sonic has had. It's only real problem is that it doesn't feel very grand, but I suppose not every story can be the big important ones. Ah well. It helps that every character had a chance to shine here, with Sonic and Johnny's back and forths and Amy being the one to delete Robotnik's data caches. A good ol' fashioned fight against the regime story. *Knuckles the Echidna: Ghost Ship - Part 1* 3:50 "IS THAT A SHIP OF PERSONAL PIN-UP TROOPERS!? AVAST MATES, TIME TO PLUNDER SOME ROBO-BOOTY!" 4:14 Just how high up are they if they can't see land!? 5:12 Porker: "Nowadays I just spend my time telling people about it." 5:20 AH! HE SAID IT! HE SAID THE LINE! Not much to say on this story so far, it's mostly just set up for the following parts. I'll have more to say on those. *Tails the Fox: Fox on the Run - Part 2* 5:45 Say what you want about Tantrum, but he makes some hilarious faces. Also, why is Tails randomly paying tribute to Dio? 5:51 Watch out Tails! He's gonna eat you! 5:58 Tails: "You have angered Dio! Come with me if you wish to survive his divine metal wrath!" 6:03 He knows what he did, just look at the evil grin on his face! He's a double agent! Run Tails Run! 6:10 Tantrum's energy comes and goes in rapid bursts. He can be a hyperactive loud-mouthed little git one moment, then the next he's borderline dead to the world. Those soulless eyes yo... 6:15 Oh right, this guy's still here. 6:22 I think slobber-chops here needs a tissue, not a reward. 6:29 A DAZZLE advert!? Haven't seen one of those in YEARS!! XD Oh, the nostalgia. 6:36 Tails, Badniks will hang out wherever they're most suited to hang out. You should know that by now. 6:58 You know, now that he's said it, I realise that this is indeed a Crawlton, and not a Caterkiller as young me used to think. Weird how even when I've known for years what the difference between the two Badniks is, I still reverted back to thinking like a 6 year old when reading this comic. Ahh, memories. How they fool you. Still, the colour scheme would throw even a veteran off; this Crawlton is the same shade of purple as a Caterkiller, when in the games Crawltons are either a dark blue or blue-ish purple. 7:02 Since when do Badniks growl? Also, it's strange to hear Tails straight up say that he can't Spin Dash in this continuity. 7:19 Tails, why did you follow the helpless, falling Badnik so close to the magma? No wonder you never learned how to spin. 7:24 That mouse is in trouble again. 7:41 What an unfortunate time to include game-play mechanics into the story. Still really liking this story, Tantrum-shaped warts and all. As much as I tease Tails, it is nice that from here on he really starts to come into his own. More thoughts on that later. RIP Dio, MVP of this comment.

Haha, hilarious. I quite like this first story, Gives Amy and Johnny some limelight while also teasing that Brutus is planning something huge! Lew Stringer's Robotnik certainly would come across as more comical though compared to when Nigel wrote him, I like both though, he doesn't come across as too over the top in comical to the AoStH though. One of my fave one off Lew Strips is "Mock the Doc" from issue #96 haha. Did you notice that Porker Lewis is already living on the Floating Island and saying his fighting days are finished which means that this strip was done after issue #76 "the big decision" yet its in issue #74! Its funny, I enjoy reading this Tails strip in recent times but when I first read this around 20 years ago I had no interest in it, I remember finding Tantrum very annoying as a kid. When Tails sent that Badnik into the lava does that mean the Mobiun perished in it as well lol? Did you notice the part of Tails face not coloured in properly in one of the last panels? Apologises on my late replies, I have a huge wall of comments to get through but I will reply to them all including yours! It may just have a delay :)

***** No problems on the late replies, I understand completely. Going to Japan is something that'll put anyone's schedule behind since there's so much to see and do there. I forgot to mention that the first story foreshadowed Brutus' plans. It's right at the beginning of the strip too, so I have no excuses there. Oh well. There is a noticeably more comedic element to Robotnik when Lew writes him. He's a lot pettier and less composed, but he does still retain an air of menace about him, which I like. Robotnik never went full comedic in STC, barring some of his more ridiculous plans (the pinball machine, stealing Sonic's speed etc). I remember Mock the Doc. As you've probably noticed, I try to hold back on mentioning stories from issues you haven't put out yet in case anyone new to the comic accidently reads a spoiler, so I'll save my thoughts on it for when you do Issue 96. I did notice that Porker was retired... the first time I read this story. I completely glanced over it here, ha ha. Guess I'm just so used to Porker being retired that I didn't notice this time around. Still, it is a strange oversight on the part of the comic to include such a massive plot hole, but thankfully it gets resolved in just a couple issues. I remember also being annoyed at Tantrum in my youth. I guess I've just seen so many annoying kid characters over the years that I've grown resilient to one as tame and comedic as Tantrum, especially since he's supposed to be annoying as an analogy for how annoying Tails must come off as to his fellow Freedom Fighters. You know, I don't like to think about the Mobian inside that Badnik, so I'll just pretend that it's actually a rare Trooper model. The alternative is rather gruesome, heheh. Tails was discoloured? *Goes back to check* Well I did now, ha ha! Aaah, the days before computer correction. A simpler, messier time.

***** I know he did. I said Robotnik was pettier in Stringer's strips, but I never said Kitching didn't have his share of... fumbles. All writers have their fair share of bad or odd stories, even the more serious ones. I think it speaks leagues of how good the writing usually is in the comic that I can think so highly of writers like Lew and Nigel even with some of the more... questionable story decisions they made over the years. STC Robotnik does not look good in all blue spiky suit, is all I'm saying.

With each issue containing usually 4 strips until around issue 133 it would be impossible for the to be a an odd or bad story line in there or two :)
