As frustrating as it is to miss all the sound effects of this awesome game, I do appreciate the effort (small as it was) to add music and shit to make the video better. It's a shame since this is a lot of people's favorite game of all time and there's no fuckin sound, though. Maybe we can have a second playthrough of this sometime, since it flows pretty well enough and kinda lends itself to conversations. Also more Cory is always kickass.

I agree that Green Hill Zone gets used way too much. I also think Nintendo should listen to that criticism, because I'm so tired of the Mushroom Kingdom hills, and they re-use way more level themes than Sega does with Sonic. Sonic at least has slightly different ruins and factories, but so many Mario games just use Hills, Desert, Beach, Ice, Sky, Mountains and Lava over and over and over. At the time of writing this the latest main-series Mario game is still Odyssey which mixes things up a bit, but I hope that in whatever the next 2D Mario game is we get to see some new places. My favorite Mario game is 3D World, but even in that game the only new areas we got were "Hills but some trees look like bells", "Hills but with pink grass and some cookies" and "Lava Land but with some Vegas-looking buildings in the background". And the train, but Mario 3 had one of those.
