Thank you for posting all of these. 💜 I saw Cher in Pgh, Pa in 2019. She looks and sounds amazing. I remember loving these shows when they aired back in the 70s. You made my day with these wonderful memories!!

Actually, Sonny and Cher aired on Wednesdays and later, Fridays. it was The Sonny Show on ABC and The Cher Show on CBS that aired on Sunday.

@@Rusty3659 So true and I had to do summersaults every week to get to stay up to watch Sonny & Cher and of course tape the show. I'd sneakily unplug the telephone so it wound't ring during the show. The later show time was bc of Cher's naval showing, but it was well worth the weekly creative pleas to stay up.

Wait! Almost at the end of the monologue Sonny ask Cher to apologize for the Washington cracks and the dog joke, however I don't see the dog joke part; What was the dog joke about? Was this episode cut and edited? It looks like that part about the dog joke was taken out. Likely by the re-run companies like TV Land.

It was after Cher made the joke about performing at the White House (“You don’t even perform at our house...”), and Sonny said he was like a wild animal at home, and that was when Cher asked “Did you bring in your dish?”. I believe that was referring to dog bowl/dish

@ Michael Remer: She said she love the sun and the beach and when she was much younger she used to get tanned a lot (That wonderful California sun...) until doctors started advising against prolong sun exposure which can damage the skin in more ways than one. Of course as half Native American she would get dark easily, especially in the summer months. She also loves the Hawaiian beaches and would vacation in Maui often which as we know is a very sunny beautiful place.

I had heard that Steve Martin had written for television - his name was listed as a writer in this show’s credits. By the end of that decade he was a household name.

Cher would not be a singer let alone a star if it weren't for Sonny Bono.
@jordoncarnegie12066 жыл бұрын
Yes she would. Shes was destined to be a star. But yes, he obviously was integral
@cayetanotirado59074 жыл бұрын
I agree, Sonny Bono made her a star, and she have said it on interviews many times: "There wouldn't be a Cher without Sonny"

Agreed. Sonny put her out there. Just like Ike did with Tina. Tina Turner said she would have been a nurse had she not been "found" by Ike.
