Through Google Home and Amazon Echo, I’d call it OK. You really have to ensure that you set up your favourites well. Then it’s really good. Yonomi helps a lot too

I have google home, but no music subscriptions. Would i utilise sonos well?

You can still upload any music you have to Google Music and play those. You can also use a radio app like TuneIn
