Thank you so much! Went from 6 blinking red to a working 60" tv! Thank you thank you thank you! SOME NOTES: On my model (seemingly the same, but not important): 1) there are screws holding in the filter mounts. after taking off the screen, you can break the filter brackets' little clips, and the brackets themselves if you aren't careful. if its fighting you, take the tape off and find the screws! 2) during the video, he has already removed whatever part you see. On account of that, you're going to see pieces he doesnt show. Easy to figure out, but if its fighting you, stop and think, and remove some tape. There's probably some tape in there. 3) While replacing the backlights, make sure to line up backlight A first! the little plug cant really be moved around, while backlight B can go anywhere. If backlight B is off kilter, it's FINE. The diffusers straighten out your lights, just make sure you can get backlight A to reach the plug. 3b) IF YOU CANT get backlight A to reach the plug, DONT FRET! cut the tape holding the wires in place, and you can gain a lot of distance on the backlight A male wire reaching to the strip. 4) the backlights you ordered are VERY FRAGILE, treat them like glass. 5) while working with the two ribbons connecting to the buffer panels, BE CAREFUL! i bent mine because I didn't understand the way they locked/unlocked. The clamp pulls towards you while you are unclasping them! when you are reconnecting them, there is a bump in the outermost portion of the ribbon, and that notch will kind of click into place before you then clasp down the lock, ON BOTH SIDES. this will make sense when you get there. good luck, fixed my 6 blinking red lights!

i think the big thing missing from this walkthrough is that you can safely remove any tape from the unit, and you will find all kinds of stuff under them.... take your time!

THANK YOU SO MUCH Got the TV from goodwill for $50 and the backlights were already bad with the slightly blue tint. Exactly the day passed the return window the TV bricked and I got the red blinking light of death. Luckily I had already ordered the backlights but was skeptical it would be able to fix my TV that would not turn on. By some miracle it did though and I saved myself 1.5k on a brand new one. PSA: Unless you have 3+ people, buy some cheaper suction cups to remove the screen because it is FLIMSY and will snap like it was designed for that sole intention.

don't use cheap plastic suction cups, they don't hold. Get quality metal cups. Ask me how I know...

I have the same model and it’s the LED’s. Sony has multiple issues with this exact model and LED’s making the pic have a blueish tint. Btw, Sony won’t due anything to help you even though this is obviously a defective part. I replaced mine pic looks pretty good and now I’m selling it and never buying anything Sony again.

I had the 6 red blinks and I replaced the LED strip on my Sony TV last night. However, after replacing it and turning it on - LED is lighting up but there is no picture on the TV (I can see dark lighted screen). Light is solid green, no error and it seem to react to the remote when I press it. Do you have any suggestions as to what needs to be done to have this fixed? TV was only 3 years old. Thank you for any comments/suggestions.

WARNING!! I don’t know if you tested the tv after, but by cutting the reflection sheet to get the lights out I now have light black strips going across the screen especially noticeable when the screen has bright whites or light colors. You can see where the light isn’t reflecting now.

Hello, I replaced all Led strips on my Sony KD-60X690E. After i finished I turned it on and green light stays on,I have sound but no picture. Backlights are lit up and seem to be fine. What could I have done to cause no picture. The green light stays on and responds to remote control but I see no picture when i hit home on menu and although screen is not black I see no display. Do you have an idea what may be problem? p.s. I checked all cables and everything looks to be plugged in.

@@nerraddier What do you mean the two ribbons - I have the same issue, sound but black screen. I'm pretty sure I put both ribbons on properly...
@nerraddier2 жыл бұрын
@@kreeperkriminal There are two thin cables that are connected to the screen and a circuit board at the bottom of tv if you take the back of the tv off you'll see them. They (depending on the size of tv) 60' will have 60 pins 65' 65 pins and so on. They can easily be damaged if you take them off. I damaged one of them slightly and I had a hard time finding a replacement. I fixed my tv by replacing the LED strips but because I Tinkered with the tv at first when it didn't turn on so many times I damaged one ribbon. If your tv just started to go out unplug it,10 min and plug directly into the wall and not power strip. if it comes on and works then your Led's are going out and need replacing. You can do the unplug trick about 10 times before it fails completely.

I have a Sony KD-65x750h and the picture went and I get blinking red light 6 times, I did factory reset and everything else but still no picture and red light blinking 6 times, I turn out my lights and shine a flashlight on the screen and can see the welcome banner from the welcome screen because of the reset and to the right the language to choose, so I can see images useing a flashlight, what would this indicate as far as a repair goes? Also Im in Canada and wonder how much a repair would cost me, very disapointing the tv was purchased on the 23rd of Dec 2020 and red light 6 blinks no picture only sound happened tonight Dec 28th, aint that a peach sony. Sir, with every due respect, I totally dislike your video. You should have taken the time to show how to remove every screw/ part! I know you wanted to condense it for time sake, but you didn’t keep in mind those who aren’t tech savvy… theres a lot of screws and taped down pieces that could easily turn this job into a half day bid.
