Bought this with SW5 and instantly regretted not getting an AVR system. They sound ok but nothing impressive, or maybe they’re impressive only when compared to sound bars but honestly they feel and sound like a toy if we’re comparing to a proper HT system. Keeping them for a few more days hoping they’d grow on me before deciding to send them back.

I had 7 Infinity large speakers and a sony es amplifier Home theatre amp and 2 veloydyne dd18 subs I replaced it with the Sony ht9 and The large Sony subwoofer well the ht9 is way way better then my old set up in every department except for The bass obviously but for a Small sub dam you can still feel it and The bass is so Clean Just thought I would let you no

Great video! I've been so tempted to get the Theatre Quad, but I already had the complete HT-A7000 system (SA-SW5 and SA-RS5). I recently sold the soundbar to a friend and purchased the Bravia Bar 9 in its place. Call me crazy, but I have the rear speakers and the bass set to MAX haha I initially set the bass to 0 and I couldn't feel it at all. Do you think the placement of my sub isn't ideal at the moment?

Wow... Using these Bar 9 I've sometimes had to put my SW5 on -2 for casual watching shows, then maybe +1 or +2 for movies. Something is definitely not right. Silly question, but is "Night Mode" on?

@ Night Mode is off when I watch movies. Even when I had the HT-A7000 I needed the SW5 to be at MAX. I’ve experimented with placing it at different locations of the room, but same result for the most part.

@L330HH this is crazy. The SW5 sounds like it could shatter my drywall. Something is definitely not right. It's either something in your settings or a bad subwoofer. Even when you have it in a bad spot, it should still rumble pretty hard.

@ That’s a bummer if I have a bad unit. Because at MAX it sounds good, but just knowing that there’s some power left on the table sucks. It’s been over a year since I purchased it as well.
