In your phone turn off bluetooth and cellular, leave only the wifi On! Thats the bug

I went into my iPhone settings - imaging edge app settings and turned off cellular data and Bluetooth- after that I was able to transfer my photos

Thank you for your comment, suggestion. Besides your turning off Bluetooth and cellular data to transfer photos, I’m glad to know that you got it *connected*. :) Yes, in addition to turning those off, your remote controlling with Imaging Edge app should be more smoothly and less jittery.

Thank you for sharing this video. It really helped me. I’ve restarted and uninstalled, reinstalled the app and nothing happened. Found this video and it saved me from being frustrated. Hehehe.. This process is working!

Thankyou for the help! With the help of your video, I discovered that you have to go through the Sony app to scan the QR code from the camera If you just try to scan it with the camera without the app it doesn’t work. But thanks to you, I only had to try one time

The app you suggested worked! Ty! It is now loading my, hopefully there are no further issues transferring. The app that the camera is suggesting doesn’t work. Apparently this is an ongoing issue for many and has yet to be fixed by Sony or the app designers.

Appreciate you sharing what worked for you. Did not work for me. Frankly at this point I wish I'd never bought the camera to begin with and this app is just another nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.

@@TossSong Hey! Finally got around to trying it again - but before I did I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Did the set-up including signing in to my Sony account via the app. I then closed the app, I signed into my Sony account via the app, turned both cellular and bluetooth off, re-opened the app, hit the start tile and voila! Thank you for your encouragement. I'm still not sure I trust that it will work in the future, but at least I'm in! Wishing you all the best!

I can't even reach this part at 3:05. It just get stuck on the homepage and there's an orange "Start" button that freezes the app when I press it.

Hi, thanks for commenting. On your cellphone, turn off the Cellular connection (& Bluetooth) and see. Using Wi-Fi. If you get it to connect, turn everything back on. It will still reconnect thereafter. Let me know how it goes.

@@TossSong I did those because I saw you suggested the same in the other comments but nothing worked. I even redownloaded the app several times and reset the wifi settings in the camera. I gave up that afternoon and turned off the camera and force closed the app on my iPhone. That evening, it Started successfully letting me into the remote/import menu. I don't know what exactly happened, but I guess it just needed time to clear the cache.

Hi, try turning off “cellular” & Bluetooth. Next, try again connecting any method. Then turn everything back on. You won’t have to do this every time. It needs to connect at least once.

At first, go to Network1, then enter Smartphone Connection, scroll down to Always Connected and if it OFF, then select to turn it ON. Next is on smartphone IEM apps, and press start to link with camera.. It will immediately connected.. Hope this will help out.. Have a good day..

I had my VPN (Virtual Private Network) active on my phone, and it was interfering with the edge connection. Friendly PSA: disable VPN while transferring files

I hate this app so much! It s ni possible that a video of 0:07 take 10 to upload on my iphone! Th fact that I can‘t use a SD card reader to fownload the videos is awfull! I m sending the camera back! I prefer having lower quality videos and it going to download just using th sd card that this situation. You explain everything perfectly Thank you 😊

If you have the same Lens as mine (Sony e pz 16-50mm), then yes. This lens always delays when collapsing. 2-3 seconds often.

Hi, the a6400 would be a little better for photos, ZV E10 has basic photo functionality. However ZV E10 has better auto focus (& active steady), built-in gyro for catalyst browse, modernized color science, and lower price. For me, I have a dedicated photo camera (a7r V) and wanted a travel compact one for lower price; that’s why I got the ZV E10. Of course, if you feel what I listed are not important, then a6400 would definitely be great.

Make sure turn On your Bluetooth. Turn Off Airplane mode (both camera and phone). Then keep repeating the process. I had had to deal with this several tries. Wishing you luck here. Thanks for commenting.

Just FWIW, this didn't work for me. I still get the same spinning wheel and ultimately a "Connection failed" itmeout whether scanning the QR code or entering the camera's SSID and password manually. :-( I'll keep searching for other possible solutions. Update: My equipment is Sony ZV-E10 and iPhone 12 (at latest IOS 17.3 level) and freshly downloaded IEM app. Update 2: I can successfully connect the IEM app on my iPad (9th gen) to my ZV-E10. Yay! It even works with Bluetooth to remotely power on/off the ZV-E10. After powering on, it automatically switches to the WiFi connection between iPad and camera. Everything works as it should. And so now I know that my iPhone connection problem is something to do with the iPhone itself, not my network or my camera. I'll focus on iPhone settings.

Trust me, it took me a MANY times and MANY retries. Try reinstall the Imaging Edge app. Camera Off then On. Also try QR code scan. If these don’t do it, I understand. But keep trying. Thanks for commenting.

I can get the camera connected to use as a remote/monitor but it will not connect to transfer files via WiFi. Have you figured out how to do this? This is a function I use all the time on my ZV-1 & A6400. If it doesn’t work for the ZV-E10 I’m returning it.

Thanks for commenting. The way I normally transfer photos: MENU → (Network) → [Send to Smartphone Func.] I don’t first try to connect with the app (Imaging Edge) at all. But by doing the above, and then it will connect automatically. Do try that and let me know. If that doesn’t work, Try rebooting the phone, turn the camera off and on and try again. And even connect through the app again if you choose or try the above. When I’m connected through the app, I’m able to shoot remotely & transfer photos. However, on occasion it would stop and give me an error message-then I would redo and it would work.

The camera now shows up for me in the list of connected cameras, but every time i try to actually import or remote shoot, it says connection failed. Again. About to return this stupid thing.

@@TossSong Same here. Tried absolutely everything to connect via Wi Fi with no luck. It was fine before but after IOS 15.7. I haven't been able to connect again even after downloading the latest update release 7.7.1

Hopefully you got to delete and reinstall the app, reboot your phone (turn off and on) and maybe try on another phone or tablet just to see. No matter, Hopefully Sony can find a solution to all of this.

For me I am able to connected but it lags alot and it constantly freeze on me. I think it's the app that needs work. Because I also have the Canon camera that I am able to connect through a different software and it works perfect no lagg or freezing.

Hi, thank you for reaching out. Hope people can comment on this too. My experience when transferring video directly to phone has always been challenging. The file format used on camera seems to be too high for the phone to handle. The sure way is to transfer to the desktop editing software and low the resolution, then transfer that to the phone. Hope someone else can chime in on this.

Hi thanks for your comment. A video that is transferred through “Imaging Edge” app is likely takes too long. I would plug in the phone and transfer it through there. Honestly I have never transferred a video via Imaging Edge. I alway plug my phone to the computer.

There are a couple of ways. 1) is to transfer then to your computer first by cable, then connect your phone to your computer and transfer them to your phone. 2) if you have a Mac and iPhone, plug the camera to it and transfer them over (could also use Photos app), then airdrop them to your iPhone.3) You would need and lightning (iPhone) or USB-C (Android) to USB-C (SD card slot) adapter to directly transfer them into your phone.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Try turning Off cellular and Bluetooth options on your phone and try again. You could use any method to connect. Once successful, turn them back On. It will continue to connect when you want it to.
