I always love vlogs with your parents, Sophia! I esp got teary during the scene of mama chang making the kimchi + feeding. Being first-gen filipino american, there's always been that disconnect between my parents & I growing up & the way I wanted to be shown love was different from what they grew up with. I'm blessed now that I'm older, I've realized and learned my parents special way of showing their love to me---food (which I'm sure a lot of people can relate with). I always look forward to the times I'm able to visit my parents & spend that special moment with them. Thank you for the effort you've put into making this video and for sharing your memories with us

I got teary eyed while watching the kimchi making segment. It’s such a labor of love. My grandma passed a couple months ago due to covid and I grew up on her kimchi- she’s the one reason why I love to eat spicy. She prided herself on the best kimchi and kept her recipe secret (even shooed my grandpa outta the kitchen when she made it). To this day I wish that she passed down her recipe so I could carry her legacy on, in a way.

Watching this vlog of you spending time with your parents, especially watching your dad be handy around your home, really pulled at my heart strings. I just recently lost my dad and he was a handyman just like your dad. Watching this helped me reflect on my own relationship with my parents. As first gen kids who had unique experiences in our Asian up bringing, now being old enough to find common ground with our parents. I finally feel content knowing we’ve all grown and learned how to love/tolerate each other better. It feels weird now being grown, yet still apart of my disruptive crazy family🤠
