Soren's Story: How One Detransitioner Found Peace Outside of Medicalization

Soren Aldaco discovered transgenderism online, identifying as a boy at age 11 and beginning hormone replacement therapy at age 17. After undergoing a botched double mastectomy at age 19, Soren found herself alone in the emergency room with doctors reopening her wounds, thinking she was going to die. Soren’s traumatic medical complications opened her eyes to the ills of so-called “gender affirming care,” which she says enabled her to believe pills, injections, and procedures could provide her the sense of self she craved growing up. Now detransitioned and healing her complex emotions through mindfulness, Soren is a vocal advocate against the “enabling” she sees happening inside the medical industry and believes that detransitioners could be the leaders of the next #MeToo-style movement.

And the more they talk about all the new quirky pronouns and fetishes, the odder, the kids are gonna feel! I predict a bunch of kids would opt for blocking their hormones to avoid this crazy adult world, where we are letting madness take over once sane spaces. And who could blame them? The future looks bleak, I wish I could enjoy childhood again.

@@idid138 Sobering reminder: The only "transition" every soul needs is; transitioning from lies/darkness into the truth/light. From religions into reality. From being unsaved/wicked sinner into being saved. From being deceived into being HEALD. Therefore, souls, CRY OUT TO GOD and leave behind all masonic/satanic lies. As none is trans nor male nor female in heaven, same in hell, no soul is trans nor male nor female. FOREVER HUMAN SPIRIT. Can confirm on the feeling odd during teenhood thing! I was in high school from 2003-2006 and I remember just avidly hating the size of my breasts. I was already a D-cup by 17, boys would sneak quick glances, and rampant uber-feminism was telling me that it was because they were pigs who couldn't control themselves. If you could have offered me any surgery in the world, I would have asked for a breast reduction, an A to B cup sounded like the most wonderful thing in the world. Looking back now I can see _so_ much more clearly now. My issue was something beyond the surface. For starters, at that point I had lived longer as flat-chested due to childhood, so I had not yet become accustomed to my new body. Being in a new body was a jarring change I wasn't ready to accept, I just wanted to run and be free again like I was as a child only a handful of years ago. Sex was also a concept that made me deeply uncomfortable at that time because at 17 I still felt much too young to engage in any of that, so the size of my chest made me feel overtly sexual when I never meant to be, and to add to that, the rampant feminism of the time telling me that men only wanted one thing. I wore so many baggy clothes to hide myself. Now though, once I've grown past these issues and come to many realizations? I am SO glad I didn't do anything and continue on that surgery train of thought! I'm still a D-cup to this day and I love my size, I've now lived for a much longer time with breasts than without and I can't imagine life any other way. As for being looked at? I grew to realize that not every glance is a leering, predatory one. It's simply just a thing that happens and it doesn't always mean objectification. All this to say that I see why thoughts of transition is such an epidemic in teens. They're in the natural puberty transition stage and it has heavy influence on their state of mind and how they see themselves. Depending on where they direct this energy and vulnerability, anyone looking from the outside in can take advantage and use this time of confusion by adding fuel to selling an ideology. Teens usually do believe they're in the wrong body, but sometimes for the wrong reasons. I felt like I was in the wrong body too, but merely because of the physical changes I was undergoing, my naivete, and my raging hormones leaving me in a vulnerable, highly suggestible, and impulsive state. My story isn't really identical or even comparable to transitioning and detransitioning of course, but I think it works on the same principle. I would have lived with regrets, I was not stable enough to have made that decision back then and I would have done it all for the wrong reasons.

this is not a functional argument, because those who believe in transgender rhetoric believe they *are* necesary. the only argument that matters is "is the philosophy true, or not?" if it is true, than these surgeries are entirely necesary. if it's not true, than the movement is an existential threat to our culture. you cannot be an enlightened centeriust on this. it's either true or it isn't, and we are burning our future on the assumption it is true.

I would like to see the liars in the transgender community get punished. They didn't do their job, and now someone who shouldn't have transitioned did, and the ability to transition as whole comes under fire. Let the cis people be cis and not take surgeries that won't help them, and let the trans people get PROPER counseling to decide the best course of action.

Beauty is within you at birth. I am 56 and I grew up as a tomboy. My story is the same and somewhat different. I had serious trauma in my life from age 4-5yrs to preteen. The more I research into the dysmorphia of our youth, the more I see a distinct pattern that links each young person the same. The individuals that are so-called professionals are absolutely doing our youth a disservice at an extremely alarming rate. If I can save even one young person from going down a path they will regret as they get older, it will be time and dedication well spent. God bless this young lady and her courage to come forward with her message.

Your gender binary is false. That's a colonialist ideal, and ruined the ancient nonbinary culture when Christians enslaved or segregated or murdered First Nation's people and Africans. We stopped being open through genocide. And that's done, get over it. Colonialism doesn't control the truth anymore.

For the most part, people don't care what you do with your body. If you are an adult, that is your choice. But letting children get it is absolute insanity. Sadly, a lot of it is due to profit. A healthy tomboy teenage girl.... doesn't need to go to the doctor's much. She's young and healthy. However, convince her that there's something fundamentally wrong with her body, womanhood and identity. Brainwash her into believing that because she does not fit into certain societal stereotypes of womanhood, because she's a tomboy, because she's insecure, maybe she's experienced bullying or a troubled childhood, or perhaps she's autistic and doesn't know it yet. Lots of reasons..... But, moving on, for whatever reason she develops gender dysphoria during her preteens or teen years that very often did not exist before in her childhood (gender dysphoria is a real condition but it is very rare and until gender ideology took hold in the last decade, it was significantly more common in young boys and not teenage girls. The girl seeks help, ends up in gender affirming care and gets serious hormonal and surgical treatments that often have complications, and even if they all go smoothly, she will now be a lifelong medical patient as once you start puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones you have to stay on them for life. Even if you later detransition, because your natural hormonal makeup got messed up and no longer functions, you have to take artificial sex hormones for life. Not to mention other potential complications i.e. bone density loss, loss of fertility, sexual function, etc. More surgeries and procedure are sought out to correct these various problems that did not exist before becoming transgender. Lastly, mental health is likely a mess, so expensive therapies and/or medication and/or other mental health support is also needed. Gender ideology is making a lot of people extremely wealthy.....

There are many practitioners like myself who object to the transgender affirmative model of treatment and challenge the research used to support it- but we are in the ones in danger of prosecution. The transgender affirmative model has been adopted by our major medical, pediatrics, and psychological professional associations and our ability to question or challenge this position has been suppressed. Instead, we have been directed to adopt this model of treatment in our professional work- potentially opening us up to legal action, losing our license to practice, and public censure and harassment if we do not follow suit. It should frighten everyone.

@whateverm.9417
@whateverm.9417 Жыл бұрын
Transgender individuals are not afflicted by delusions. It is evident from the personal narratives of detransitioners, as well as other accounts, that they did not undergo the profound distress of gender dysphoria. Gender dysphoria, a condition that endures throughout one's lifetime, cannot simply vanish or be remedied. While transitioning can alleviate emotional anguish to some extent, it cannot eradicate gender dysphoria or serve as a curative measure. Detransitioners grapple with a range of traumatic encounters, such as sexual assault and bullying. For them, transitioning holds promise as they envision a transformation of their physical sex as a means to transcend the torment inflicted by their traumatic experiences, hoping to emerge as a new individual untainted by those hardships.

@@keidwynI tell you why it is controversial: According to "The independent woman's forum" 《The number of people aged 13 to 25 identifying as transgender has nearly doubled since 2017. Forty-three percent of the 1.6 million transgender-identifying Americans are young adults or teenagers. As the liberal comedian Bill Maher noted recently, the reason the transgender trend is troubling is because it is medicalized and involves “literally experimenting on children.” In the United Kingdom, the National Health Service’s transgender youth clinic saw a 20-fold increase in referrals in the past decade, from about 250 per year to 5,000 in 2021. The UK government recently shut down that clinic over concerns for patient safety. A class action lawsuit has been initiated against the clinic on behalf of 1,000 former young patients harmed by medicalized transition.》 I don't take too much risk by predicting an epidemic of detransitionning in the next five years. And most of these detransitionner would by biological female under 30yo.

What a strong person, being a mentor for your younger sister while young through such a difficult journey. I think a lot of gender dysphoria comes from trauma. And it doesn't need to be physical or sexual abuse, it can be attachments trauma with parents, can be feelings of being isolated. This is all about connections and relationships from my perspective, our sense of identity is very malleable. You have managed to forge ahead in life- reaching out to your Dad and finding your little sister- you have done all this on your own. I believe you have a lot of initiative and therefore a very happy future to look forward to. Good luck

This is so close to the path and time-line my daughter started on. At 15 she came to me and said she was transgender. I said I was there to support her, but would not approve or pay for anything related to hormones or surgery until she turned 18. She was angry at me for a long time and struggled to understand why. She was a very volatile teen who had experimented in cutting, and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I knew she was struggling with body dysphoria, but I also was convinced that she was a girl inside and out. Even so, I continued to support her clothing and lifestyle choices. She had developed breasts very quickly and they were large, so I thought that was definitely a contributing factor to being uncomfortable in her own body. After a year of changing to a male version of her name and dressing like a boy, I started noticing a change. She started adding more feminine clothing, painting her nails, doing a little makeup, etc. I only commented about her looking nice if she made a little extra effort with her appearance, and didn't focus it on whether it was male or female. She wore a suit to a school dance and the next one she wore a dress. We had a long talk finally after almost 2 years, she thanked me for supporting her, but also not letting her do anything medical that couldn't be reversed. She was overcoming the uncomfortable feeling with her body changing, and finally understood why I had said no, to give herself time to grow and mature. If she had been living with her father, I have a feeling he may have just gone along with what she thought she wanted, and would have a similar story to this poor girl. I'm grateful I had full custody and let her grow more before making these drastic decisions. I am appalled that this has become a common issue! When I was that age, I would have become a mermaid if I could have. My cousin says he would have become a dinosaur. Thinking you can change your gender with medication and surgery is asinine, and should require a certain age and a few years of counseling prior to anything even being considered. Unfortunately there are counselors now who will participate in the brain washing as not to appear as "transphobic". My daughter is now 21 and happy in her own skin. She's decided to grow her hair out, and often wears dresses. It's such a relief that at least this burdan has been lifted from her small shoulders. God help us all.

I get the feeling that i would have thought/said that I was if I had been born 10 or 15 years later than I was. Why? In the words of 13 year old me, in my diary "A girl or a woman always has to be pretty, but men get to be ugly". I didn't want to wear make-up. I heard about jobs forcing high heels on woman and despised the mere thought. I hated and still hate our toxic female beauty standards. I didn't want to diet. I didn't and still don't always want to have to be "pretty". I'm still a tomboy as an adult. While I'd love to get rid of my period, I really don't want to be a man. I do wish that society didn't put so much emphasis on a woman's physical appearance when compared to a man. But people identifying as trans or "non binary" to escape that pretty much upholds that status quo. Instead, we should just tell girls that yes, you can be female and shave your head, shun make-up and wear men's clothing and it doesn't automatically mean that you want a penis.

Isnt it odd how all these transition stories seem to start (at least with women transitioning to men) right at that age when puberty starts? EVERY young girl goes through that phase. You dont quite want to let childhood go, but you feel pressured to be a certain way and more grown up and get rid of the childhood things you loved. You arent sure who you are yet. Are you a girly girl? A tomboy? Something in between? You are just starting to notice boys but also other girl's bodies. Am I gay? Why am i looking at these girls? Maybe its just curiosity. We compare ourselves to other girls and feel inadequate if we aren't in the lead with developing. You have hormones flooding through your body and all these new feelings you dont know what to do with. You're curious about your body but you also feel wrong about it. WE ALL GO THROUGH THIS. And you know what? It passes. Maybe not in a year, maybe not in 5 years. But usually after you settle in to puberty and most of the rapid changes at the beginning are done, you settle down, you figure yourself out, and you move on. But instead of guiding girls through this rough time, we instead push them to be men. Push them to do this and that and ruin their bodies and all this dramatic stuff that they will later regret. And for what? So the 1 actual trans kid can be happy? What about the dozens of girls who will now be suffering the rest of their life and families broken up by this madness? Don't they matter?

Studies are now showing that many also have autism. Autism heightens the sense of not connecting with the body or having trouble fitting in…they are preyed upon by the influencers. They see people become superstars as soon as they say they are trans, and they think it will fix the problems they have…but it won’t. It can become a special interest which I’ve heard lasts 3-5 years. So when the special interest in trans is over for them now they are left with the decisions they and/or their family made. It is tragic! I have a severely autistic son, and I see so much info on autistic kids adopting the trans identity because they have trouble finding their true identity. So so sad…and criminal of the teachers, doctors and therapists to lead them to make life altering decisions.

I think society should normalize masculine women and feminine men, not ways of self-harm for children. I'm a tomboy myself and I've been always confused because I differ from other girls and I've never acted feminine and never will, sure I can be girly but not feminine, that's just who I am and I'm still biologically a woman and wouldn't want it any other way because I like being a woman, that's who I am. Tho if I was like 10 years younger I'd be 100% sure I'm trans boy bc of how it's popular these days, also the fact that I'm lesbian would probably be another argument against me being a woman. I feel sorry for these kids because for the most of them it's just a typical teenage hating their body phase and that's normal. Of course trans stuff is only promoted because taking hormones will cost these confused people money for the rest of their lives and in the eyes of rich psychopaths it's a very beneficial deal, nothing else and it's just sad. Trans people do exist but there aren't that many of them, most of the time it's some underlying mental issues. I just think we should just let kids be kids. I can understand social transition because no one is hurting anyone but things like harming ur own body or these trans athletes controversies are sick

What Soren's counselor and doctors did was negligent and unprofessional, and anyone like that should be reprimanded. I want to say that I think this is way less common than you think, but I still want to make sure that the doctor's who greenlight these surgeries are being thorough in their jobs. You could take your child to a therapist who wouldn't be eager to start your kid on hormones and ask questions later. Schools would hold assemblies warning them about the dangers of this instead of promoting it and praising kids if they identified as trans. I have seen gender roles become more rigid again in my lifetime, and instead of fighting back we decided to just convince people that they are "non-binary" if they don't fit a gender stereotype.

I wore baggy clothes to hide my developing curves. I dressed more like the boys than the girls as I entered high school. I felt more comfortable around boys. I even walked like a boy (from the shoulders rather than the hips). If I were a teenager in 2023, I'd be told that I have gender dysphoria or that I'm transgender, that I'm in the 'wrong body' and that I should get my breasts removed and start taking testosterone. We all know we have to be mature enough to say no to a child’s desires when they aren’t good for them. Mutilating their bodies and arresting puberty is just not good for a child.

I pray more teenagers watch this…journey. I’m so glad you are still alive. This is heartfelt 💔 and tragic. These doctors are butchers and to me they are ignoring the signs of infection because they’re actually writing you off as mentally ill 🤒 so they truly didn’t care. This journey that you’re telling may save others from destroying and mutilating their bodies too. Please get healthy in body and mind. Stay encouraged.

What a sad but beautiful story. I hope your story gets out before more innocent children are destroyed. I pray you can have children, because, after hearing how you treat your sister- you will be a great mother!

Wow! You are so smart and so beautiful in body and soul. I am absolutely positive that if you keep believing in yourself you will have a wonderful life. Remember that there will always be people who criticize others but we should only pay attention to the words of those who love us.

when i was little, i wanted to be a boy....just because boys had more fun....i liked male geared toys at a time when gender stereotypes of strict....kids needs to be told girls can use tools and race cars. boys can be hairdressers and cheerleaders.....you don't have to change genders to do what you want.

More and more detransitioners are speaking up about how messed up they got when they were just children. My heart goes out to them. Children should never have these unneccessary surgeries. I hope one of these days, these "doctors" will have to pay for all they did to these kids and not informing them correctly about the consequences.

Oh bless you. So many important words in this reel but the most important in my opinion are ‘a child doesn’t’t know . . . ‘ and are the ones that hit home. Adults should be guiding , counselling, explaining and taking TIME before these irreversible decisions are made. Unfortunately the rush to avoid puberty is the issue.

The most insightful comment in this was when you spoke about your little sister. You are able to see her through a lens you couldn't see yourself: that she is perfect and doesn't need to change a thing. I look around at young people getting tattoos, piercings, weird hair colouring and, of course, going into the trans cult and all they actually need is a smile. The world opens up for people who smile. Stop thinking about yourself; think about others and smile.

As someone with colored hair, piercings and tattoos, I'd like to clarify that those don't mean you're/will be trans etc. For me it's non-invasively decorating my body, for some it's not enough and progress into transitioning for whatever reason...

Anyone thinking of surgery talk to people that have Pudendal Neurology and the HORRIFIC suffering they endure. Chronic pain for the rest of one's life. Very little relief. The pelvis has millions of nerves. DONT LET ANYONE MESS WITH IT!

Did they have a choice? Would they have been accused of conversion therapy if they had tried to dissuade her? Shamed for being transphobic?

Such a horrible start to your life, I hope it gets better and I think your right when you say people are not really helping when they enable. Ive been watching a lot of George Simons videos lately and his big thing is building character and really for the last 30 years I think we as a society have let our characters slide. We see politicians doing the wrong thing and think nothing of it now. People lack honesty and integrity or maybe they dont lack it but its not prized ya know? If all our children were brought up building sound moral character I really dont think there would be an identity issue. Thanks for sharing your story.

This is why I’m so against children being allowed to transition. They are too young to fully understand what they are doing. There is an extremely high rate of trans regret but the people pushing this down our children’s throats are refusing to acknowledge it.

These surgeries shouldn't be done unless: 1. The person is an adult (over 21 for example) 2. deep gender dysphoria is diganosed. 3. they go through in depth therapy sessions.

They shouldn't be done at all because: It's harmful, negatively effecting the individual's biology, romantic relationships, personal and social relationships (friends, family, etc.), and psychology.

Thankyou for speaking about your experience. We hear so much from both sides but the transitioning is so impactful and we don't hear enough from people who've been through this. De transitioners need a much wider platform.b
