Me and my family took a trip up to California and while we were on a hike, we saw a pair of bear cubs walking around further down the path. The parents were literally a few meters away from them. If you think you can play around with some baby bears and it'll all be fine, keep in mind that the parents never stay that far away from their babies. Also...apparently wasp spray makes for a great bear repellant. We didn't need to use it, but my dad was literally ready to use it at any moment.

KirbyKips so you don’t know if wasp spray makes good bear repellent, or if it would have just pissed the bear off so that it would kill you slowly and wear your skull as a hat lol....the only thing you could say honestly is that wasp spray made you think you were safe from bears.

Honestly, it was embarrassing to watch my dad freaking readying the wasp spray like he was about to be assaulted. And we didn't bother arguing because, like you said, it made him feel safer. I just wanted a relaxing walk through the forest trail that didn't involve the possibility of DYING TO BEARS. But I guess we can't all have what we want.

Black bear Cubs can find themselves around houses quite often. On multiple occasions my family has had black bears roaming around the house, usually a cub, sometimes on our porch, once he climbed into a tree, usually on the patio. As long as you don’t interact physically, you will be fine. Best thing to do is to be big and loud. Get the cub to leave. The mom won’t go after you unless you get close to the cub. Be territorial. DONT FUCKING TOUCH THE CUB, LIKE THOSE GOD DAMN HALF BRAINED DIPSHITS.

But a brown bear cub walking around poses a threat to itself by just existing, because in the wild the male bears wouldn't hesitate to take it off the census. So brown bears will be aggressive unless you play dead. Getting bigger and louder than a brown bear will just solidify its idea that you're a threat like it assumed and get you murked faster.
