A lot of people didn't like it because it was suddenly different. Chester wrote most of these lyrics, and if you think hard enough, you'll realize this album was his way of saying good bye to everyone. Which is why the notes and lyrics hit different. But some people are ignorant and they just want to follow the crowd and/or talk out of their asses.

For example feels like every chorus in this album is unique and has slightly different instrumental or lyrics. Every song is heart touching in some way. It's another unique album by them and I hope Mike and boys can keep this up and deliver again. No matter if they bring another One More Light, another A Thousand Suns, another Living Things or another Hybrid Theory/Meteora/Hybrid Theory EP/Reanimation/Xero style or anything else they are capable of, I'm very excited and can't wait, because I know it will be very unique and amazing again

I feel like the lyrics to this song is a message from my mom. She's still alive, but she's left me multiple times in my life and I never understood why until I got older. She said she never left me because she didn't want to be my mom. She said she left me because she wanted to be my mom but my dad and stepmom kept trying to drive her away and it turned into a pattern where she would leave and come back and then leave again because they were too much to handle for her. I feel like the lyrics of this song is what my mom has been trying to explain to me for the past 8 years. I understand why she left now.

Thanks for sharing your story. I think the original meaning of this song is LP apologizing to their families for not always being around and probably missing out on many important moments of their kids' lives. After Chester passing, one can find a different meaning I guess, but I don't think it was intended. I think it is is mainly Mike apologizing to his family for not being there, and Chester also identifying with that.

+Armando Alday I also loved how the roles were reversed. They did the same thing in the song "Blackout' were Chester was rapping and screaming, while Mike was singing during the outro with Chester singing along. "Sorry For Now" definitely better than "Invisible", the instrumental is just to good besides 0:51 to 1:10 and Mike's voice is just perfect for this kind of song. If Linkin Park continues than they might keep doing poppy songs even though so called "fans" would hate them to death for that, because this is what fits with Mike's voice the most.

If the fans didn't like this album, then that was their choice, but they didn't have to tear apart LP publicly. You have every right to a respectful opinion. Trashing something because you can't understand how people and music evolve is not ok. I personally love this album. Yes, I feel like this was a goodbye from Chester. It's heart wrenching 💔 😢

@Izaan2810 Жыл бұрын
@@Chaotic_evil_duck He doesn't though. Chester was VERY closely involved in all of the creative process with Mike. Every single song's lyrics correlated with Chester in such an eerie manner, that either Chester suggested the words OR he simply wrote for quiet a chunk of their discography. This song though, sounds obviously written from Mike's perspective regarding his relationship with kids.

The thing I love most about this band is that they always expressed infinite amounts of meaning in their songs, but were able to avoid cussing for the most part. It set them apart from lots of other bands, and I hope they stay this way forever.

Romy Taylor ... Oh, Album's like Hybrid theory are CLASSICS... I mean, they will keep playing song's from this album live forever, of course. And you know what... You are right... After litsenning to the One more light album twice, I started feeling the lack of ... ''blueprint''. On every other album, including the shift changing album Minutes to Midnight, you have songs that escalades.. On this album, I feel chester's voice is a little .... flat ? Where's the blueprint in the music that make's you say : Hey ! That's a LP song !... I think they wanted to make something different, and they did.... But I came to the conclusion that even thought every song is ''catchy''... and that lyrics are still profound and ''poetic'' in the way I like them, I can't find that little spark that make's LP unique... I feel like this album is good, but not... ''special''. ( sorry if my english is bad, i'm french.) And i'm thinking, Live, the concerts... They are a LOT of balad's in there.... don't you think ? .. Anyways. I like LP, I'll keep this album, but I understand you're point of view, I feel a little like that 2.

This song hs meaning to me. I can imagine my dad sending my sister this song, for many reasons. She hates him, can't stand to see his face because he hurt our mom mentally. Both he and my mom are better off now, but it doesn't seem like she'll ever forgive him. I hold a grudge against him for many reasons, and I think mine is much more deep-seated, but I still visit him. He still loves her, I know, because I spend the weekends at his house with my other sister. He sent her a card for her birthday, and when she read it, I was playing this song. I don't know if she noticed the song and thought it fit too well, but she cried. "So I'll be sorry for now that I couldn't be around, sometimes things refuse to go the way we planned. Oh I'll be sorry for now that I couldn't be around, there will be a day that you will understand, you will understand..." It just seems like something he would say to her.

Apart from this song, the whole album is telling you every minor things you may not aware but it happens everyday, your fight with someone beloved, a cold war with anyone else, someone you beloved pass away...the content is somehow similar to Hybrid Theory, the feelings against something happening all around us, but the interpretation is in different prospect. If Hybrid Theory is written by a 15 year old 90s angst teenager, then One More Light would be written by the same person at 45 years old. "After a while you may forget But just in case the memories cross your mind You couldn't know this when I left Under the fire of your angry eyes I never wanted to say goodbye..." I listened to this song and I cried, because I really have a connection, a resonance reacting to these lines like it truly happens every day when something always gone wrong and you get blamed while doing apologize, but you have to be sorry for keep doing it right. As a father, your children may not understanding every intentions behind but all you have to do is praying that they will understand your afford one day. This song is too good to be true, Linkin Park really saves lives out there.

As a fellow fan who commented this album 2 months ago. A true fan of LP who grew up with listening to them for years. I have something to say. Now..... this sudden this news of Chester recent passed away is devastating. I'm not saying the mad bash against this album is the reason of his suicide but I am saying it certainly didn't help the result. Most of you "fans" don't know that this battle went on long once after the album thousand suns, ppl were bashing on his music saying it's changing go back to rock. Hating on this album in particular just went mainstream so that's why you only know of the mad bashing. Were you there to know he has always struggled with suicide? If you listen closely to each album you would see some songs were his cries. This was his loudest cry I've ever heard and I knew the mad bashing wouldn't help his battle. Those small comments of saying this album/song sucks just kept pushing and pushing till he decided to take action. This isn't where he can be a Phoenix and arise from the ashes. Ya'll beaten and turned your backs on him till the flame went out. And ......... now you realize that flame will never reignite. Hate on me if you wish. I don't care. I know I stood by LP and back up every choice they made. Some albums I'll admit weren't my taste but I understood their reasons behind it and respected it. That to me is what makes us true LP fans.

I just hope that Mike Shinoda will continue the LPs legacy as the lead singer. This song just proves that hes more than capable of being lead singer for a band like LP. He was part of the band since the beginning. And it would be fair if he took over. I'm not saying that he can replace Chester. He can't, nobody can. But I don't want LP to disband. And thats the only option I can think of for the band to keep on rockin'.
