To answer Ruff's question about where Loona was for the whole adventure, she's the receptionist and doesn't do a lot of field work. Plus they need someone to stay in Hell so they can portal back when they're done.

Technically she doesn't NEED to stay in Hell to get them back, the only thing they need is Stolas' book, however bringing it OUT of Hell is not a very good idea, at least not to do frequently. If they loose that book, they're kinda fucked, so keeping it with Loona in Hell while they do their jobs is a much better idea.

The pilot sets up a lot of the context for this series and while it isn’t the best episode, it really should be labelled as episode 1. Since the show takes you knowing everything from the pilot for granted.

i'm kinda glad they didn't. as much as i appreciated the pilot at the time, it's kinda messy compared to the rest of the show, and has a few jokes that i don't think landed. also the change in voice actors is a little jarring. i think it's a good idea to watch the show as is and then go back to the pilot if you're curious

@@sortastupid if you'd ask me it simply depends on the show in question. (Excluding the whole dub vs. sub debate cause it doesn't apply here) In general watching without subtitles is usually better for visually spectacular shows since they tend to distract in some cases. In case of comedy shows, bad subtitles can also be problematic by preemptively showing a punchline. (Only the case with bad subtitles though) Subtitles can be a great support for following details of the plot in case someone gets distracted by a sudden discussion of something that happens (which is the whole point of group reactions so no critique in any way). Auto generated subtitles however achieve the complete opposite by creating confusion due to faulty readings by the algorithm, especially in case of a distraction. They are also visually distracting by showing up in wrong moments or stay on for to long. (Aside from KZbin subtitles being incredibly awkwardly placed imo) In short: Subtitles ≠ Auto-generated Subtitles.

So why does it feel so evil?" ...oh maybe that unholy 'prayer' Martha gave where she was praising Satan and says " may the root of evil remain honored as we continued thy work". I have a headcanon that Martha's family was more than just Satan worshipers, but started to change while still on Earth. I'm posting this knowing you've gotten into season 2 so I won't be spoiling anything.... If anyone else reading this but hasn't seen all of season 1 and doesn't want a spoiler, skip. At first I thought the changes the family went through was just storytelling to show how evil the family was but we do not see any other human show changes like this except in Truth Seekers and that was when #2 is possessed by Stolas. So Martha's family is unique in that they seem to show changes: red pupils, sharp teeth like demons, and enhanced strength. This is only way I can see how this family is able to capture I.M.P. so easily, despite how well we see them fighting in later episodes...esp. Millie. Seriously Millie being taken out with a bottle to the head? No ordinary human would be able to do that when Blitzo states "it'll take a rioded up rhino to take down that woman" ... s1e6 and s2e3 prove that!
