No one will believe it, but the night he died I woke up in the middle of the night with a feeling of dread, and just felt like "something is wrong with Chris Cornell".I hadn't thought about him in a long time really. I googled his name and I read news articles about how they were touring and playing Fox theater that night. After reading about 10 news stories I went back to sleep, relieved. When I woke up, it was all over the news that he died. I grew up in Seattle, saw them in concert many times, met the band at their Down on the Upside album release party, and worshipped Soundgarden from age 12. I still have no explanation for that experience though, as I didn't know him well or anything.

I have loved Chris Cornell and his music, voice and lyrics since the early 90's, and was so fortunate to see him live last year. This performance, and after the news of his death, I didn't believe that he committed suicide, but seeing this video is heartwrencing (u)! He seems to be influenced and in a dark (old) place. So sorry to see this ;-( You were an amazing person and musician, Chris! R.i.p and my heart goes out to his family

Hypno Coosh People who record shit pay good money to do the shit just as those who you are supposedly defending, so shut your fucking mouth, know-it-none loser. Some people do it for friends who don't get to go, and others do it for reasons only they know. Who the fuck cares? You pay to stay in one spot? You have free reign and roam of whatever venue, and if it's an amphitheater with seating, phones don't get in the fucking way. You're just fucking saying shit to start a big deal. Fucking moron.

People say Soundgarden was grunge, and im probably gonna get alot of backfire from this fanbase, but. In all honesty, Soundgarden was metal. They are the modern day Black Sabbath, they might be very riffy, but they are metal. They were the brothers of rock period. And its sad that i just recently started listening to them. They are good, every single one of them. Chris has a voice of an angel. And people who say depression isnt real. Fuck you, cause it clearly is. Rest in peace brother, we will all miss you so dearly. He knew he was going to kill himself. He was heartbroken. He caught his wife in the most wicked of lies! It broke his heart. He had had enough. She tricked him in to marriage. The truth is coming out soon enough. Chris will have the last word! There is plenty of evidence that this is what pushed him over the edge. Narcissism and greed completely destroyed his heart.

Eddie Trunk said he supposedly adlibbed some Led Zeppelin lyrics from the song " In My Dying Time" into this being it was his last song he would sing..... with the words of Slaves and Bulldozers which are pretty serious mixed with the words In my time of dying I want no one to mourn. Could have been his true farewell
@_MrAvocado_7 жыл бұрын
It certainly looks that way, unfortunately. Would be interesting to find out if there is any other instances of him closing a concert with the "In My Time of Dying" ad-libs before and, completely tangential, but my mind thinks of Jeff Buckley who was last seen walking into the Mississippi River singing "Whole Lotta Love"

BruceBanner the reports are stating the exact opposite, that he was very cheerful and engaging with fans during this show as well as afterwards, signing autograph pics and laughing with fans in good spirits so...
@SummersSnaps7 жыл бұрын
And the reports I've read suggest he was overdosing ativan that day, even before the concert, that he was slurring his words etc. I've seen him live and he was never slummed over like this, unengaging with the crowd, and other live clips of him tend to not show him like this, or at least as severe. You don't have to look pass his song titles and lyrical content to see he was a tortured soul, his artistry comes from being in the darkness for longer than most can endure and deriving something from it (music), its one of the reasons he was so successful. He just lost this one off battle with depression that night, but everyone needs to recognise he would have had many battles like this and 'won' also ie not killing himself.
@AB677 жыл бұрын
I just don't think he hung himself, not for a minute but then who am I to say. Just based on circumstances, not something he would be so keen to do after a show and that way, in a bathroom no less? Maybe he went the same way as Michael Hutchens from INXS, who the fuck knows?!
