Awesome. Great memories, great times. Still remember the Sounds intro music too.

Great interview! There isn't a lot of Jimmy being interviewed around this time/era on KZbin so it is greatly appreciated - thank you Donnie Sutherland. Molly could never seem to interview Jimmy greatly, don't know why - though I would like to suggest it was because Molly was always looking for the scoop - you know what I mean? The 'Jimmy Barnes reveal moment' as such - or a comment that would sell mega millions of dollars...even if it was B.S. And Jimmy Barnes was and still is brutally honest and has never bothered with the B.S. in the music industry i.e. the farcical or the fake, the hype...the sensational...its was all total B.S. to Jimmy especially when he was part of Chisel. He detested Countdown for essentially what it was i.e. artists performing songs that the producers of the show demanded and pre-recorded/not played as is live. Chisel and Barnesy detested that. And I guess when it came to the media and the press, Chisel and Barnesy tended to demand their privacy i.e. wouldn't reveal their private lives and who wouldn't it?! However Jimmy's private life is now being revealed as it has almost killed him, many times over. I am 75% of the way through his sequel 'Working Class Man' to his first autobiography 'Working Class Boy' and as I have been both a Chisel and Barnesy fan from 1980, I never ever knew about Jimmy's tragic childhood. And so now because I do, I now believe he is even greater than american legend 'Superman!' (lol). Because essentially Jimmy Barnes has cheated death several times and lived to tell about it. Many of his peers have died from the excesses of alcohol, drugs, and generally hard lifestyles. Not Barnes! His story is quite frankly phenomenal - and that's putting it mildly.

Jimmy’s accent amazes me. I hear the Scottish accent then & even now when he talks. It’s so cute

He moved to Australia when he was 5, did his mum lock him in the house til he was a teenager ? Now he has a strong Scottish accent, does he practice it ?

Thanks for sharing. Great interview as they all were. I was at the gig where Joe Ely supported. It was my first Barnes solo gig, still have the ticket. Feb 2nd 1985 at The Hordern Pavilion in Sydney.
