Soundstream BXA1-10000D Bass Extreme Amp Dyno Test and Bass Rockers BR2000.1D [4K]

Soundstream introduced a new line of amplifiers for 2019 called the "Bass Extreme" series. There are four monoblocks and one four channel in the lineup. They all include a built-in bass processor and seemingly lots of power for the money. The one we are testing today is the top of the line model, the BXA1-10000D, claimed as 10,000 watts MAX. We all know there's no way you are getting 10kW for $200. The Soundstream website provides "RMS" numbers of 1400, 2100 and 3300 watts at 4, 2 and 1 ohm respectively.
Let's take a closer look at this "10kW" amp and see how it performs. Make sure you keep watching all the way until the end of the video as I also test a Bass Rockers BR2000.1D amp

My AR-4500 cut off at certain frequencies at 1 ohm it cldn't take some tracks at all. IDK why ppl mess with epsilon gear anymore when a few more bucks they can grab a wolfram ,audiopipe or skar.

I agree too. I wonder if we soon see new vawe of cheater amps. I still got old Soundstream Rubicon 204 rated 4x25w got measured 2x38w+1x138w. I think someone won IASCA championship with same amp. Back in the days I drive 12" sub and Component Set with it. If they had rated amp on this video 2000w rms everybody would be Happy to get little extra and lots of dynamic power. Soon everyone would want to buy these...

I use to own a reference 5 channel and I use to play music very loud for like 8 hours straight with it and it hardly ever use to get hot . Only time I'd get a little heat from it was when I used 2x12 on the sub channel

I have run into the issue of the power and ground not being true 4 ga. What I do is take a grinder and shave my adapter down till it first.It is set to 4 gauge international standards.Thanks for the videos Big D! I have one of the BassRocckers BR2000 amp, and I'm really impressed especially for the price. I have it hooked to a new gen alpine type r at 4ohms and it really pushes! I havent had it get hot once either and I play it all day in my vehicle, sweet amp.

They rate these amps this way because a lot of people I know only look at that big number. Even when I tell them by the fuses in their amp there is no way it can get those numbers etc..... Some people just dont know. Thanks for yet another test video.

I love that brushed aluminum finish. Yeah labeling polarity under the terminals makes life a real pain. My buddy smoked a lot of fuses on an Audiobahn amp because he couldn't see the symbols. The amp was mounted in the back of a Jeep with low visibility, luckily with new fuses and further inspection, the amp survived and bumped hard.

DATED... it doesn't matter what audio equipment cost 20-30 years ago that would be like expecting misleading ratings on microwave ovens because they cost pennies today compared to 1985 ... The VCR cost $1400 when it first came out and by the early 90s you could buy a VCR of better quality than the $1400 ones that first came out for $200 or less ... Electronics drop severely in price when the technology is old and you have many handfuls of companies manufacturing the products not just a few ...lol... or 1 or 2 .

It’s almost like they are rating 1 amp with the power of 2 strapped together. Great deal for $200 again, just wish they would rate them correctly. For $400, you get about 6000 watts of dynamic power. Thanks again for a great video

In the early to mid 1990s I was a Soundstream dealer and the Reference series amplifiers were my go to. It was hard to beat the Refrerence 500 for a sub amp at the time. 1$ a watt was the the standard back then. Ahhhhhh the good ol days of car audio!

Owned by epislion still. There's not one thing wrong w them there's different amp lines for different consumers. Did you know soundstream has a dealer only line of amps n subs you won't find on eBay or Amazon also it's my understanding you can't simply buy it and install yourself. I think the only way you or I can rock it is to have it installed by a certified installer

I still run a Reference 200S. That little amp is still a tank. I blew a 405 a long time ago, my own fault im sure, but that was also a fantastic unit. for the price, your still getting a lot for your money when you consider how much it used to cost to get an amp back in the day putting out this much power.

30% more rp 2000. I have rp 1200 on an EVL-15 . 25 htz. the 4 ohm version is 27htz . Im goin rp-1500 with same evl 15 as its the sound that deserved to be in my whip . Car subs have magnets bigger then home audio but yet home theater can push 25htz and lower like velodyne. Love skar , love testing & love ya channel Big D. knowledge is power. Threw my Rockville 15 out btw. Loyalty isnt a quality of theirs

Love the amp dump tests! I know amps are not cheep, but I’ve got a hifonics 2416.1 Brutus super class d amp and was wondering what it really put out. I’ve got 2 fosgate p3 12”s on it and it beats but I don’t want to blow them so I keep it about halfway gain. Could u do a dump on something like that?

What up Big D Wiz this is Big D from Va. You should do another test on the Ignite 3000d. It's even better that you thought. I did a budget build with 9 pyle power 15s and for now one of those amps. It's running smooth at a half and ohm yes a half an ohm without getting hot or going into protection. I would love to know how much power it's putting out. I'm about to series parallel the subs up to 1 ohm and strap another 3k to the one i have. I just wish the inputs were different.

I wonder what they higher end amps can do like the x3.71 and there 14.71 or 14k not sure if i got that right but the 3.71 share a lot similarities with the powerbass xta 5k amp. Bass rockers ... Is basically what I have with the ard1.8000d ... Same guts same internal wiring and all same power too only difference is I only have one single subs output .. 4 gauge ... But I would love to have dual 8 gauge outputs ... Another thing was I hade to shave down my stinger 4 gauge to 0 gauge reducer in order to fit .. I hated that too .. otherwise this amp has been great to me never overheats .. very efficient ..

Back in the day anything that was near those numbers were unheard of , most amps would break down at 300 w 4 ohm . SS would put actual power it would sell without goosing the numbers . I would buy it , just be honest.

Sound quality is something to consider rather than just raw wattage output. My T1500-1bdcp definitely sounds different (deeper and cleaner) than what it replaced.

Anytime you could get your hands on any Audiobahn amp and can test it id really appreciate it. Everyone back in the day use to say audiobahn sucks. now of days everyone says they were actually pretty good and underrated. Would be nice to finally find out what some of there stuff is really putting out. I set of car alarms from over 100 feet away with my 1200 watt audiobahn amp and two 900 watt audiobahn 10 subs. lol

What would you recommend I need a 4 or maybe 5 channel amp something not to crazy expensive but that is super clean THD wise I like a clean signal I used to use soundstream stuff years ago when I was a installer and when they had some quality stuff

What do you think my pyramid pb600 Gold Series amp from the 90s was actually putting out in 4 ohm? It would get so hot you could practically light a cigarette on it and it never shut down love that amp.

Could it be safe to say on average that the cheap amps you should just add another 0 to the fuse rating and expect less than that on certified wattage? I've seen that a lot on your dyno vids. Seems like the amperage draw stays fairly efficient on some of these cheapo amps except when they are doing dynamic.

I see that acrylic box, how thick is that? And how does it sound compared to a traditional wood box?

Its not a parametric bass EQ, its a subharmonic synthesizer, very similar to the audiocontrols epicenter. Probably you got distorsion because the output voltage of the "epicenter" part was set to 10 volts, directly to the preamp.
