I know you probably won't see this, but on the off chance you do, I really want to thank you for these videos. While nowadays people only watch you for random facts about CS:GO, these Hammer tutorial videos are definitely my favorite of your channel. All of the more recent Hammer tutorials seem too hard to follow and have no heart or humor put into them, while your tutorials are fun to watch and, though old, are still relevant. I've been trying my hand at mapping for about 5 months now, and with the help of your tutorials and how to finish videos (and 7 failed maps) I am currently making my favorite project yet, de_dune. I sincerely want to thank you, because I can guarantee that if I hadn't found your videos, I would have given up on mapping ages ago. So thanks, and as always, watch out for trees!

In my experience the rope does shake with env_wind, but the effect is only visible if you are pretty close to it.

There's two separate entities for one thing in Source which literally use the exact same C++ class internally and the only difference between the two is that if a specific one of them is used in a sequence at least once, it shows what it'll look like after the map's compiled. Must be Tuesday again.

I second vissova's question. I'd like to make a sign (so a physbox, or something along those lines, an object with physics enabled) and then hang the sign from two ropes - to make storefronts prettier and more enticing.

Really wish Valve would make it like some modern editors (like CryEngine for instance) where you can pop in and out of the game to check things out...would make mapping less of a headache in the long run.

now think about this, wouldn't the collision with world work well if it was not a rectangular prism the rope was colliding with but, a sphere or something of the sort?

How do you make a rope hold up an object? Like make a rope hold up a cube without the cube immediately falling to the ground. Is there a way to limit its length?

How do you get it so that you can play in the game and change things in hammer at the same time? As in, can you have it so that you change things and as you change them you can view the changes through the actual game as you play it?
