@TexasPicachu: let me educate you here a little bit. Spaniards are from Spain, and they are one of the most mixed people in Europe. Latin-Americans are Hispanic people because culture, language and genetics; they are the descendants of mostly Spaniards and other Europeans that arrived in the Americas. Some of them mixed with natives or black people in some degree vary from country to country. Brazilians, Argentinians, Cubans and Puerto Ricans are mostly white hispanic people, still some of their population are mixed mulato (white and black) or mestizo ( white and native ). And that’s ok, actually that’s great bcuz we enjoy or admixture, inheritance and of genetics richness.

Pretty much the same reason Immigrants brought St Patrick's day from Ireland. The US population is mostly descendants of immigrants and slaves. No one is from here except the indigenous population. Each group has it’s own unique culture and it’s foolish to say someone can’t celebrate their own culture. As long as it’s not rooted in hate I see no problem.

Well the Us is the only country where if you apply for a job you have to put your race. Not ethnic background, but RACE. That is because the US has always been a country that separates and divides. In other words almost all groups of immigrants that may come here, will deal with discrimination. This discrimination sometimes turns into hate and actions of Violence. So all of this immigrants find solidarity, refuge and help within their communities from the same culture or nation. That’s why they wave their flag, it’s not just pride and identity. But a means to show that their community will not be harassed and are not shy to display the love for their roots and how strong they are as a people.

Most hispanic do speak English is just in some cities where hispanic population is the majority. Where a lot of people take longer to learn the language. But I would say this is normal in any country where you have a lot of the same people living in the same city.
