Aben Doktor As far as I remember, this may be a misrepresentation issue, which has a much less severe effect, and remedy. It's complicated, but all you need to know is that due to the characteristics of advertisements, it usually cannot be considered as offers, thus it is non-binding. If the shop placed price tags on its products, then yes they have to follow, but if it's just an advertisement that states the price, then no.

In this case, the customer is right... The store is under investigation for fraud because of this. they advertised you could get the car for that price intentionally, hoping that people would come into the dealership and post it on the internet/apps to go viral so they can bring in new customers/sympathy from the public. The staff were notified about this ahead of time, there's a reason why he wasn't just kicked out of the store and they allowed all the bystanders to film.

@@MissyxAkunai im surprised you would call a cheapskate that isn't even willing to pay the full price a customer
@MissyxAkunai3 жыл бұрын
@@FirstnameLastname-wd8ts Doesn't change the fact he went into a store, with the expectation to purchase something at a price that was advertised and in the end was LIED to. The staff was notified before hand (so yes, they were expecting it and were told to act a certain way/trained). This was done with the INTENTION to garner awareness for the store / go viral. Once again, doesn't change the fact that the store is also getting fined and may lose their business license. Yeah he was rude about it, but he was in the RIGHT or was a CUSTOMER. Maybe next time, the store shouldn't up a false advertisement, film the interaction and get caught. Also, staff at that point should have gotten a manager or take him to a side room to discuss, not let him put on a show and FILM it so it can go viral. This is a dealership, they have MANY side/office rooms where customers can discuss payment methods/negotiate. You never talk about price or let this kind of situation escalate. This all could have been avoided if they followed protocol but they were actively told not to. Also, all dealerships have security, there's a reason no security guards showed up (it's so the video can go viral) and he can sue for emotional damages/trauma and he still receives the product, and same with anyone else who went into the dealership that was turned down for the offer.

He’s basically taking advantage of an honest mistake, whether the law backs him up for “misleading advertisement” or not, we all know a car is not worth 2 dlls, and at the end of the day the one that will face the consequences will be the employee, so the man has no empathy or consideration for the employee.
@zachmiller19944 жыл бұрын
It wouldn't even affect the employee unless she was the one who made the advertisement, because they didn't give it to him when that's what was shown for the price I'm pretty sure the company will be in more trouble than anything.
@dianasosa13014 жыл бұрын
Did you watch the video until the end? One of the staff admitted to it being a publicity stunt, not a mistake. And the store was suspected of price fraud by the authorities. You advertise a price, you have to sell for that price. There's a reason those rules exist....
@iLiekLemonade4 жыл бұрын
@@dianasosa1301 advertising only constitutes as an invitation to treat, and is no considered to be a valid offer. The customer is the one making the offer to buy the car, the cashier is not obligated to accept his offer and may make a counter offer instead if she so desires.
@iLiekLemonade4 жыл бұрын
@@aaronfang6965 if there is no intention to deceive, there is no requirement for you to honour that price. Again, the company is not making the offer, it is the customer making the offer, therefore they are not obligated to accept your offer. You may refer to Fisher v Bell's case as well. If you look at things logically, there is a high chance that the company here has made a mistake in advertising. If they were to advertise the car for so cheap, what customers do they intend to attract? People who aren't willing to buy the car even close to full price in the first place?

all of you commented like you already experienced being old or something. being old is not just grow older and have more experience. but your brain ability also decrease, not just intelligence, but some also can experience decrease emotional control. my grandpa is really calm his whole life, but in his last year he is very hot tempered. my granpa brother also hot tempered after got dementia, he basically could get angry at anything. next time just don't easily judge people, but try to understand.
