This is actually a fun idea. Kind of reminds me of Iron chef in way, where you’re given the ingredients and you have to use the key ingredients in every dish. This really gets your creative juices flowing for sure. I could see the Alfredo used in the pasta with the sausage and broccoli or you could actually make turn into a Italian style soup, using the fries as a gnocchi, but you would need to mash them out, add a bit of flour and turn them into a small potato ball. You could use the drippings from the sausage to create your broth and then add in the Alfredo sauce to make a creamy based soup. The chili with the cheese could simply be an easy dip if you had some tortilla chips. Anyway, you could literally make so much with these items.

Wow! I didn't know that about certain brands of fries could be turned into mashed potatoes. Thanks Brooke.

I love the videos that you do with your Aunt Vickie. They are so thought out and we get some great, off the wall, delicious recipes that I would have never thought of. However, believe it or not, because its still hard for me to believe, I like the Great Value in the jar alot more than I like the Prego in the cans. The cans are cheaper and I buy it online by the case to get a discount on it. But some days, I just have to buy the great value The GV flavor is so much better to me when I splurge the few cents and get them I usually get 2. One to eat now, and one for when the zombies come. The grand kids say we store food and can food for the zombie apocalypse. So we're covered as far as food, meds, emergency supplies and ways to cook go. Living in Florida some of those preps are a must so your not dotting eyes in the grocery store when a storm comes. However, you can ask any of my immediate family from the 4 great grands who are 3 to 5 years old (Npw the 2 three year olds know I can apples and thats enough to them lol) to the 16 grand kids ages 8 to 28 or my 4 boys and my 4 daughter in laws (I love them girls like they were my own) ages 37 to 42 for the girls and 41-48 for the boys where they are going if the zombies come and every one of them will say Mom's or Nana Monna's. And I'm right proud of that. You probably won't see this Brooke but there are a couple of channels that remind me so much of you. The first one could be your sister and thats "Dollar Tree Dinners". Ya'll make up the best recipes from the items at Dollar tree. Good recipes. The second one cooks like you do on your Sunday meals. She could be your mom but she knows how to cook those southern recipes like you do. Her channel is "In the Kitchen with Talli Faye. I just love her. Please check out these channels if you happen to read this. I think you will be super surprised at how much of you are in those. If you can and don't mind, please tell her Monna sent you. Oh, and if this messages sounds like a drunk person is writing it, I had a total hip replacement 8 hours ago and I'm home now looking at all the videos I've been missing so please forgive the book and the scatter brained way I wrote it. Thanks for all the great content and keep on cooking my friend.

I am glad I am not the only one that reuses my oil. Oil is so expensive! I filter it a few times. Great dinner Brooke take care!
@mrs.b671919 сағат бұрын
I do too honey. Not only is it way too expensive, but I honestly think it helps flavor as well 😋 My granny used to do it, so I actually have to give her the credit for how I've cooked these past 40+ years. 😊❤
@charlotte-m5d17 сағат бұрын
@@mrs.b6719 I agree that you get more flavor out of used oil, as a teen I worked in fast cook and always cooked my food in the oil used for onion rings.
@el-maiki10 сағат бұрын
Oil is expensive but please do not reuse it: reused/burnt oil increases the chances of getting cancer and is awful for your health. You may try different ways to cook food that do not require oil.
@mrs.b67198 сағат бұрын
@el-maiki ACTUALLY, oil can be used 2-8 times, depending upon which oil you're using, but only 3-4 times if you are dredging foods. This information comes from Food Lab and King Arthur Baking. May 30, 2023 BUT, you have to properly strain and store the oils and know what to look for to determine WHEN you should dispose of it. Restaurants do not dispose of their oil after each use. Anything they prepare fried, is cooked in reused oil for quite some time. They'd go broke otherwise. McDonald's is a prime example. Those fries 🍟 and chicken nuggets are fried in oils used daily (18-24 hour/day) and for an entire week (7 days) BEFORE it's changed. If you want to get down to brass taxes, inhaling fumes from cooking oil, and not having a vent or fumes extractor above your cooking area, has been found to cause lung cancer, exacerbate asthma, coughing, wheezing, chronic respiratory conditions, etc. (2019) My granny taught me all about this and I have an extractor above the stove. She's 96 and never had cancer. Don't ever eat anything fried from a restaurant/fast food chain if you're THAT worried about reused oil, because you CAN'T escape it!

The ingenuity of your videos is very interesting to see. Although I don’t live in the USA, these recipes give me a glimpse of the food culture of this country and how people anywhere find ways to have a good meal at affordable prices. I have a question - in my country the frozen vegetables are much more expensive than fresh ones. Isn’t much better to get the broccoli fresh instead of frozen? The content of that bag seemed to be small 😳

Great choice!
@margueritekinchen655818 сағат бұрын
Not sure if i am going to explain this right. Next time y'all should buy double the ingredients. That way you can cook what you may have been thinking about when you bought the ingredients, then since your Aunt has no idea she could come up with something totally different just to see how different your thought processes are. As well as instead of getting two meals, one from her and one from you we would get four.
