Hi Heath, I use the Alberto knot. I tried the FG knot when it was popular and the GT knot but the Alberto is easy to tie and it's strong. If I'm tying lines at home, I usually put a drop of nail polish on my knots to help lock the lines from slipping. If I'm on the water I don't bother with the nail polish. The Alberto and Uni Knots can cover almost every need. That's a great photo you posted of you and Avi. Happy Thanksgiving and good luck, Mickey

Hi Mickey, Thanks for watching and adding some great advice for solidifying the knot with the nail polish. I've never tried that, but, I'm always learning. I've tried many knots for braid to leader from Yukatan, GT, FG, Albright, and a few others... I find the Alberto to be the most trust worthy and easy to tie in the heat of the moment. Thanks for the compliment on the photo... we went out Thanksgiving morning to pull our stone crab traps and snapped a quick well wishes photo for everyone... and yes Momma had some stone crab appetizer. thank you Happy Thanksgiving I use the GT Knot Figure 8 knot on leader and 10 wrap allbright on braid have reeled in 60 lbs of cod on it and has never failed me and oh by the way had to throw cod back because it's endangered here in the gulf of maine can't shoot the kings ducks can't catch the kings fish

Hi brother how are you .i like that knot can i tie it in between braid and monofilament in any diameter and any lbs such as lighter lines and heavy lines with accuracy . Do you have any idea of breaking point of that knot

Thanks a million for watching and asking a great question. Yes, you can use different pound test class lines, it makes no difference. You are threading the braid onto the leader with this knot, which allows you to use different line. The knot will not break and doesn't create a weak point on either end because it is a threading application. Hope this helps. Always great to hear from you. Tight lines & take care ;)
